Function Description

The Amico Color primarily functions as a mobile communication device, allowing users to make and receive calls, send and receive short messages (SMS), and manage contacts. It supports GSM/GPRS technical specifications and is approved by domestic and international authoritative organizations, ensuring reliable network connectivity.

Usage Features

Keys and Navigation: The phone features a keypad for entering numbers and characters, along with dedicated keys for various functions.

  • Charging Interface (1): Used to connect the charger.
  • Earpiece (2): For listening during calls.
  • USB (3): For connecting the phone to a computer or other devices.
  • Side UP button (4): Used for navigation and volume control.
  • Side DW button (5): Used for navigation and volume control.
  • Send key (6): To make and answer calls, and to order out call logs from the idle screen.
  • Left key (7): Carries out the function indicated by the directing symbol at the bottom left corner of the screen.
  • Down key (8): Used for navigation.
  • Keypad (9): For entering numbers and characters.
  • MIC (10): Microphone for voice input.
  • Flashlight (11): Provides illumination.
  • LCD screen (12): The main display for viewing information.
  • Up key (13): Used for navigation.
  • End/Power key (14): Ends or refuses a call, powers the phone on/off, and returns to standby mode from other modes.
  • Right key (15): Carries out the function indicated by the directing symbol at the bottom right corner of the screen.
  • SOS key (16): Long press to use the emergency function (if available).
  • Flashlight button (17): Activates the flashlight.
  • Battery cover (18): Protects the battery compartment.

Numeric keys (1-9): Used to enter numbers and characters. These keys can also be set as one-touch dial keys for quick access to contacts. * key: Used to enter specific symbols, Chinese punctuation, symbol *, P, and W. It also functions as a volume key. # key: Press to switch input methods. Holding this key long time switches between mute and normal mode. It also functions as a volume key, matching the *-key. Side key: Used to move up/down, and for some special screens, to move left/right (e.g., in phone settings for date and time). SOS key: Long press to activate the emergency function.

Battery Management:

The phone's battery comes with approximately 50% charge. For optimal performance, it is recommended to fully charge and discharge the battery three times after unpacking.

Charging:

  1. Connect the charger's power supply.
  2. Plug the charger connector into the charge port at the top of the phone.
  3. A charge indicator will display and flicker on the screen. If the phone is off and the battery is low, it may take a moment for the indicator to appear.
  4. Charging is complete when the battery level indicator shows full and stops flickering. A full charge typically takes 3-4 hours. It's normal for the phone and charger to become warm during this process.

USB Usage:

When the USB cable is inserted in power-on mode, a menu will pop up:

  • Mass Storage: The phone can function as a U-disk while still being powered on and charging via USB. When the USB cable is inserted in power-off mode:
  • U-disk function: The phone can be used as a U-disk while charging via USB.
  • COM Port: The phone can function as a modem or for USB charging.

Connecting to the Network:

SIM Card: A valid SIM card is required to access the digital GSM network. The SIM card slot is located inside the battery compartment.

Inserting/Removing SIM Card:

  1. Turn off the mobile phone, remove the battery, and disconnect any external power supply.
  2. Carefully remove the SIM card from its packaging.
  3. Insert the SIM card into the slot or pull it out from the slot.

Switching On/Off: Press and hold the END/Power key to switch the mobile phone on or off.

Unlocking the SIM Card:

PIN 1 (Personal Identification Number) code and handset lock code protect the SIM card and phone from unauthorized use.

  1. Power on the phone by pressing the END/Power key.
  2. Enter PIN1 code. Use the Right key to clear incorrect input.
  3. If an incorrect PIN1 code is entered three times consecutively, the SIM card will be locked, and the phone will request a PUK1 code. If you don't know the PUK1 code, contact your operator.

Connecting to Network: After successful SIM card decryption, the phone automatically searches for a network, displaying "Searching for network." Once connected, the network operator's name appears in standby mode.

Making Calls:

  • Standard Calls: When the network operator symbol appears on the screen, you can make or answer calls. The signal strength is indicated in the top left corner.
  • DDD (Direct Distance Dialing): Dial Area Code + Phone number + Send key.
  • IDD (International Direct Dialing): Dial (+)Country Code + Complete phone number + Send key.
  • From Phonebook: The phone lists all numbers in the call logs. To view:
    • Press the Dial key to view "Call history," then press the Send key for "options."
    • Numbers in the history list can be dialed directly by pressing the Dial key.

Emergency Call: Emergency calls can be made within network coverage, even without a SIM card. If roaming service is unavailable, the screen will display "EMERGENCY."

Answering Calls: If "any key answer" is enabled, pressing any key will answer a call. Otherwise, press the Send key and select "Answer."

Call History: The phone stores recent call records and total talk time.

Phonebook: Browse telephone records in alphabetical order. Search for desired numbers.

Messages:

Send and receive short messages (SMS) if supported by the network and subscribed to the service.

  • Write message: Send text messages to other phones. Ensure the service center number is set before writing new messages.
  • Write multimedia message (MMS):
    • Input message content using the "*" key for symbols.
    • Send to: Send the multimedia message.
    • Input method: Select input methods.
    • Add picture: Insert a picture.
    • Add sound: Insert a sound file.
    • Add video: Insert a video file.
    • Add subject: Enter or edit a theme.
    • Preview MMS: View the MMS.
    • Slide options: Add slides or set slide timing.
    • Advanced: Insert attachments or bookmarks.
    • Save to Drafts: Save the message in Drafts.
  • Inbox: Press Select to read message content from the list.
  • Drafts: Displays saved messages. Options include View, Edit, Delete, Delete all.
  • Outbox: Displays unsent messages. Options include View, Resend, Edit, Delete, Delete all.
  • Sent message: Displays messages already sent.
  • Delete message: Select to delete Inbox, Outbox, Drafts, Sent messages, or All messages.

Call Center: In Idle mode, press the Up key to enter Main Menu, then select "Call center."

  • Call history:
    • Dialed calls: View the list of dialed calls.
    • Received calls: View the list of received calls.
    • Delete call logs: Delete Missed calls, Dialed calls, Received calls, or all call history.

Extra:

  • Calculator: Provides basic arithmetic functions.
  • SOS: Enable or disable SOS function.
    • Emergency number set: Edit or remove emergency numbers. Set by sending an SMS command: "setnumber:name:number:code" (e.g., "setnumber:Jack:13715266888:0000"). The verified code can be set in "Code Set" (default 0000).
    • Emergency SMS editor: Edit the emergency message content (default "Help"). Set by sending an SMS command: "setsms:message:code" (e.g., "setsms:Come:0000").
  • SMS reminder switch: Turn SMS reminders On or Off.
  • Code set: Change the default code (0000). Also settable by sending an SMS command: "pwd:new code:old code" (e.g., "pwd:1234:0000").

Calendar: View the calendar.

Alarm: Display today's and future schedules. Options include View, Add, Edit, Delete, Delete all, or Send.

Settings:

  • Phone settings:
    • Time and Date: Set time and date.
    • Schedule power on/off: Set automatic power ON/OFF times.
    • Language: Select display language.
    • Flight mode: Saves power and allows phone use without a SIM card.
    • Pref. input methods: Select a preferred input method for all input screens.
    • Display: Adjust display settings.
  • Network settings:
    • Network selection:
      • Automatic: Auto search for the network the SIM card is subject to.
      • Manual: Search and register manually to available networks.
      • Preferences: Pre-save favorite networks.
      • Band Selection: Select a proper band.
      • GPRS connection: Select constant or temporary GPRS connecting mode.
  • Security settings:
    • SIM security: Prevent illegal phone use.
    • PIN lock: Activate or deactivate PIN code protection. Change PIN Code. If incorrect PIN is entered three times, the SIM card locks, requiring a PUK code.
    • Change password: Change the phone's password (default 1122).
    • Auto keypad lock: Set the waiting time for automatic keypad locking.
  • Restore factory setting: Restore default settings (default password 1122). The phone will restore and reboot.

User Profile:

  • General:
    • Activate: Activate the selected profile.
    • Customize:
      • Alert type: Select Ring only, Vibrate only, Vibrate and ring, or Vibrate then ring.
      • Ring type: Select Repeat (uninterrupted), Ascending (uninterrupted and increasingly loud), or Beep once.
      • Incoming call: Change ring tone.
      • Ringtone volume: Adjust volume.
      • Message: Change message ring tone.
      • Message volume: Adjust volume.
      • Keypad: Select key tone.
      • Key tone volume: Adjust volume.
      • Power on: Change power-on ring tone.
      • Power off: Change power-off ring tone.
      • System alert: Turn system alerts on or off.
  • Reset: Recover default values for the user profile.
