This document describes the BRUKSBO LX system 20V 2.0Ah Lithium Exchange Battery, model number CDA1180. It is a rechargeable battery designed for use with Bruksbo LX System 20V battery platform tools.

Function Description

The battery provides power to compatible Bruksbo LX System 20V tools. It features LED indicators to display the current charge status, allowing users to monitor the remaining power. The battery is designed for easy insertion into and removal from tools.

Usage Features

General Safety Warnings for Battery:

  • Do not open the battery to avoid short-circuiting.
  • Protect the battery from heat, continuous intense sunlight, fire, water, and moisture to prevent explosion.
  • In case of damage or improper use, if vapours are emitted, ventilate the area and seek medical help as vapours can irritate the respiratory system.
  • Use the battery only with Bruksbo LX system products to prevent dangerous overload.
  • Avoid damaging the battery with pointed objects (nails, screwdrivers) or external force, as this can cause an internal short circuit, leading to burning, smoke, explosion, or overheating.
  • Do not expose the battery to fire or excessive temperatures (above 130 °C / 265 °F) to prevent explosion.
  • Charge the battery only within the specified temperature range as improper charging can damage the battery and increase fire risk.
  • Do not service damaged batteries; maintenance should only be performed by the manufacturer or authorized service providers.

Intended Use:

  • The battery is exclusively designed for use with Bruksbo LX system 20V battery platform tools and chargers (CDA1183, CDA1182). Using other chargers may cause serious injury or damage.
  • Batteries within the LX system 20V platform are interchangeable with all Bruksbo LX System 20V battery platform tools.

Operation:

  • Always remove the battery from the power tool before any work is performed on it.
  • The battery must be charged before its first use.
  • Inserting the battery (Fig. B): Ensure the battery's exterior is clean and dry. Insert the battery (4) into the base of the machine and push it forward until it clicks into place.
  • Removing the battery (Fig. B): Push the battery unlock button (1) and pull the battery out of the machine.
  • Checking the battery charging status (Fig. A): Briefly push the button (2) on the battery. The battery has three LED indicators (3) for charge level; more lights indicate more charge. If no lights are burning, the battery is empty and needs immediate charging.
  • When not in use for extended periods, store the battery in a charged condition and never below 0 degrees Celsius.

Maintenance Features

  • Before cleaning or maintenance, always switch off the machine and remove the battery pack.
  • Regularly clean the battery casings with a soft cloth, preferably after each use.
  • Ensure that ventilation openings are free of dust and dirt.
  • For very persistent dirt, use a soft cloth moistened with soapy water.
  • Do not use solvents such as gasoline, alcohol, ammonia, etc., as these chemicals can damage the synthetic components.

Environmental Information:

  • Do not dispose of batteries with household waste.
  • Defective or worn-out rechargeable batteries must be recycled according to Directive 2006/66/EC.
  • Take the battery pack and/or appliance to a nearby collection facility. Contact local authorities for proper disposal of worn-out power tools/batteries.
