Ice temperatures vary slightly
Warm ice (around 32*F) is typically wet or dripping and won’t
last long. Ice that is colder than freezing point is relatively dry
and will last substantially longer.
Air and sunlight are the enemy
Large areas of air inside your cooler will accelerate ice melt as
the ice is consumed with having to cool the air, instead of your
contents. If you do need to leave space in your cooler, they are
best filled with extra ice or beverages. Keeping the cooler out
of direct sunlight will also maximize ice retention.
Dont drain the water
Do not empty the cold water from the melted ice. The water
helps to insulate the remaining ice.
Rock salt is your friend
Using rock salt will super-chill your contents. Simply sprinkle
rock salt on top of the ice, close your cooler and enjoy extra
cold drinks.
Start with a chilled cooler and
chilled beverages
If the beverages you are putting into the BrüTank start out warm,
a significant amount of ice will be wasted cooling the cooler itself.
Preload your cooler a few hours prior to use with a sacrificial bag
of ice to cool it down or store it in a cool place before loading it up.
Ice Retention How to Insert the Tank
Slide the tank into the cooler and ensure it is seated securely.
ProTip: You can also use the cooler without the tank to increase
ice capacity.
Tips + Tricks
Once the tank has been installed, insert the tap
from the outside and hand-tighten until the tap
is facing vertically. Do not over-tighten.

When removing the tank simply unscrew the tap
and lift the tank out of the cooler and witness the
magic of our self-tapping tank at work.

To use the tap, press the button, and it will
activate the internal tap allowing liquid to flow
freely. When not in use, use the included spout
cover to keep it clean.

Overview

The BrüTank™ 55qt is a cooler designed for optimal ice retention and convenient beverage dispensing, featuring a unique integrated drink tank system.

Function Description:

The primary function of the BrüTank™ 55qt is to keep beverages and other contents cold for extended periods, similar to a traditional cooler. However, its distinguishing feature is the integrated, removable drink tank, which allows users to dispense a separate beverage (e.g., a mixed drink, water, or juice) directly from the cooler without opening the main lid or contaminating the ice. This dual-purpose design enables users to keep ice and packaged beverages in the main compartment while simultaneously serving a bulk beverage from the tank. The cooler can also be used without the drink tank to maximize ice capacity.

Important Technical Specifications (Inferred from the manual):

  • Capacity: 55 quarts (main cooler capacity).
  • Drink Tank: Removable and integrated, designed for easy insertion and removal.
  • Dispensing Mechanism: Features an external tap that connects to the internal drink tank. The tap is activated by a button and includes a spout cover for hygiene.
  • Ventilation: The drink tank lid includes a dial for venting, ensuring smooth liquid flow.
  • Drainage: Equipped with a drain plug for easy emptying of melted ice water.
  • Construction: Implied to be robust and insulated for superior ice retention.

Usage Features:

Ice Retention Optimization:

  • Pre-chilling: To maximize ice life, it's recommended to pre-chill the cooler and beverages. This can be done by loading a sacrificial bag of ice a few hours before use or storing the cooler in a cool place.
  • Ice Temperature: Colder, drier ice (below 32°F) lasts significantly longer than warmer, wet ice.
  • Minimizing Air Space: Large air pockets inside the cooler accelerate ice melt. Filling any empty space with extra ice or beverages helps maintain cold temperatures.
  • Sunlight Avoidance: Keeping the cooler out of direct sunlight is crucial for maximizing ice retention.
  • Don't Drain Water: The cold water from melted ice acts as an insulator for the remaining ice, so it's advised not to drain it.
  • Rock Salt: Sprinkling rock salt on top of the ice can "super-chill" contents, enhancing cooling.

Drink Tank Operation:

  • Installation: The drink tank slides securely into the cooler. The tap is inserted from the outside and hand-tightened vertically. Over-tightening should be avoided.
  • Dispensing: To dispense liquid, press the button on the tap. An internal mechanism activates, allowing liquid to flow.
  • Hygiene: A spout cover is provided to keep the tap clean when not in use.
  • Venting: The drink tank lid features a dial that can be turned to vent the tank, ensuring a smooth and continuous flow of beverages.
  • Removal: To remove the tank, simply unscrew the tap and lift the tank out of the cooler.

Cooler Drainage:

  • Process: To drain the cooler, loosen and pull out the drain plug until the stopper is engaged. Tilting the cooler at an angle ensures complete drainage.

Maintenance Features:

Cleaning Instructions:

  • Tank Removal: Before cleaning, unscrew the tap or plug and remove the drink tank from the cooler.
  • General Cleaning: Both the drink tank and the cooler should be cleaned with a mild dish detergent and hot water.
  • Tap Cleaning: The tap should be thoroughly rinsed with hot, soapy water.
  • Drying: All components must be allowed to dry completely after cleaning.
  • Preventing Leakage: Ensure all components are tightly fastened before subsequent use to prevent leaks.
  • Post-Use Cleaning (ProTip): After each use, the BrüTank should be cleaned with mild soap and warm water. It's crucial to remove the drink tank to prevent moisture from getting trapped underneath. Other areas prone to debris collection, such as the drain plug and lid gasket, should also be cleaned.
  • Storage: The BrüTank should be completely dry before storing, with the lid closed.

Lid Removal:

  • Process: The lid can be removed by pulling up on the hinged closure.

The BrüTank™ 55qt combines the robust performance of a high-capacity cooler with the innovative convenience of an integrated, self-tapping beverage dispenser, making it suitable for various outdoor activities where both ice retention and easy drink service are desired. Its design emphasizes user-friendliness in both operation and maintenance.
