Next, you’ll attach your arm panels, which are
marked with left and right stickers. Working
with a partner, one person should lift the left
panel in place, while the other uses two hand
bolts to attach the panel to the seat deck.
15
Stuff the arm and back covers with the
corresponding cushion inserts, and zip them
up. Place the cushions, and you’re all set!
12
Repeat for the right arm panel.
16
To shift “Shift” into sleeper mode,
simply remove the cushions and use the
han
dles to unfold the sleep surface. The
arm cushion inserts also fit a standard
pillowcase, so you don’t even need to buy
extra pillows. Sweet dreams!
9
Do the same thing with two of your front legs
(which are slightly taller than the back legs).
13
Grab two corner braces and look at the
inside corners of your back and arm panels.
Align the holes in the braces with the holes in
the panels, and use slot screws to securely
attach them. We recommend loosely
catching the thread on each side to get the
alignment right, rather than fully tightening
one before the other. Use the bottle opener
to help tighten the slot screws.
10
Take your final two legs, one tall
and one
short, and screw them into the leg brackets,
with the back and front middle legs in their
proper places.
14
With a partner, ip the sofa upright. Unfold
the loose pocket of the seat cover and
unzip it. Insert the thick sleeper cushion into
the open cover pocket with the “sleep
surface” tag facing up and re-zip the cover.
Fold the sleeper cushion back into the sofa.
