The by.schulz Stem Twist Pro SDS is an innovative A-Head stem designed for e-bikes, city trekking, speed-e-bikes, MTB, and cargo bikes, offering both adjustability and integrated accessory mounting. It is suitable for extreme loads encountered in downhill riding, dual slalom, freeriding, or riding profiles with jumps, making it a robust and versatile component for various cycling disciplines.
Function Description:
The Stem Twist Pro SDS allows for quick and easy adjustment of the handlebar position, enabling a 90° rotation to the left and right without tools. This feature facilitates a space-saving parking position, making it convenient for storage or transport. When turning the handlebar back, the stem automatically locks again in the riding direction. Another key function is the angle adjustability of the stem element, which features a robust adjustment joint that can be loosened, set to the desired position, and then locked again. The integrated SDS (Stem Docking System) provides an easy mounting system for various accessories like lights, action cameras, smartphones, GPS devices, and bottle cages, enhancing the bike's functionality.

- Required Fork Shaft Protrusion:

- The necessary fork shaft protrusion is at least 55 - 56 mm. Maximum protrusion is 116 mm above the headset, combined with max. 60 mm spacer rings.
- The threadless fork shaft can be shortened to the correct length. When cutting, ensure the fork shaft end still has an outer diameter of 28.6 mm and no sharp edges.

- Reducing Sleeve Option: Handlebars with a clamping diameter of 25.4mm can be used with the help of a by.schulz Stem Shim reducing sleeve from 31.8 to 25.4 mm. For mounting, the opened, one-piece aluminum sleeve is pushed over the handlebar center and bent closed. Fits all by.schulz stems. The Stem SDS handlebar clamp has a width of 41mm. Available widths: 41 or 43 mm.
- SDS Link Compatibility: The SDS Link is pushed from the outside into the socket of the SDS front cap when the handlebar is mounted and screwed tight in the desired position. You can combine the SDS adapters depending on the intended use.

Usage Features:
- Easy Installation: The manual provides detailed steps for mounting the stem and handlebar, including specific torque values for screws.
- Adjustable Angle: The stem angle can be adjusted from -30° to +50° in 10° steps using a 5mm Allen wrench. This allows riders to customize their riding position for comfort and performance.
- Twist Function (Parking Position):
- Turning Sideways: Open the quick-release lever, press down the control knob, and rotate the stem to the left or right side. Close the quick-release lever when the desired parking position is reached.
- Turning Back: Open the quick-release lever and turn the stem in the direction of the riding position. When the riding position is reached, the control knob pops out to show that the stem is locked in the driving position. Close the quick-release lever firmly.
- SDS System: The Stem Twist Pro SDS is equipped with the forged aluminum SDS front cap for the Stem Docking System. This system allows for easy mounting of various accessories, individually or in combination, such as lights, action cams, smartphones, GPS, and bottle cages.
- Safety Instructions: Emphasizes the importance of correct tightening torque for all screws (6-7 Nm for M5 clamping screw, 10-11 Nm for M6 adjustment joint screw) and proper headset adjustment to prevent play. It also warns against riding with the quick-release lever open and ensures the control knob protrudes approx. 4 mm from the stem when riding.
Maintenance Features:
- Regular Cleaning: After the first installation (approx. 20 km), check the fork and handlebar play. Readjust if necessary.
- Lubrication: To avoid soiling the stem and threads in the clamping area, clean the stem regularly and if necessary grease with resin-free lubricants.
- Annual Inspection: At every annual bike inspection (at least every 1000km), the play of the headset and Stem Twist Pro SDS should be professionally checked.
