Usage Features

The N-GV4080EOC-X waterblock is an integral part of a custom liquid cooling loop. Its installation involves several steps:

  1. Preparation of the Graphics Card:

    • Remove the stock cooler from the GPU.
    • Clean the GPU die and other components of any original thermal paste using a non-abrasive cloth.
    • Apply the enclosed thermal pads to the memory and VRMs on both the front and backside of the graphics card. It is crucial to ensure that the memory and VRMs (marked in yellow in the manual) are covered by thermal pads to prevent damage. No thermal pads are required on the coils.
    • Apply a thin and even layer of thermal paste to the entire surface of the GPU chip.
  2. Installation of Washers:

    • Place the provided washers on the premounted screws on the backside of the waterblock, ensuring they create the right space between the waterblock and the graphics card.
  3. Installation of the Block:

    • Carefully place the PCB of the graphics card on top of the waterblock, aligning the screw holes.
    • Attach the waterblock to the graphics PCB using the M2x5mm spring screws, tightening them carefully.
    • Secure the backplate to the back of the graphics card using the M2x9.5mm screws in the corresponding positions.
