KEYLESS START
DRIVING EFFICIENTLY
The vehicle is equipped with Hands-Free Start, which will
automatically start the vehicle. The Remote Keyless Entry
transmitter (key fob) must be in the passenger cabin to power
on the vehicle.
STARTING THE VEHICLE – POWER ON
With the key fob in the vehicle, press the brake pedal or
close the driver’s door to power on the vehicle. If a key fob
was left in the vehicle after the last power cycle, the brake
pedal must be applied to power on the vehicle.
When the vehicle is ready to be driven, the
READY icon will
appear on the cluster display.
Note: If the key fob battery is weak, place the key fob in the rear cupholder
in the center console to enable the vehicle to start. Replace the key fob
battery as soon as possible.
STOPPING THE VEHICLE – POWER OFF
With the vehicle in Park, unbuckle the seat belt and open
the driver’s door. After exiting the vehicle and closing the
door, the vehicle will power off automatically.
To turn off the vehicle manually, with the vehicle in Park,
select the OFF icon on the infotainment screen.
Note: If the vehicle was powered on, but never shifted out of Park, the
vehicle must be turned off manually.
POWER ON AFTER DRIVER EXIT
To keep the vehicle on after a driver exit, shift to Park and
then select the
Extend Mode icon on the infotainment
screen. The vehicle will remain on for a set time displayed
on the infotainment screen.
See Driving and Operating in your Owner’s Manual.
MAXIMIZING RANGE
A number of factors influence energy use and electric range.
Here are a few factors that impact driving range:
Technique – Avoid rapid acceleration or braking. Higher speeds
use more energy and significantly reduce range.
Terrain – Varying road conditions, such as hills, rain, snow, and
wind, impact range.
Climate Settings – The energy needed to warm or cool the
vehicle’s cabin and propulsion battery can cause range to
decline. Turning off the Heat and A/C settings will increase
efficiency.
Outside Temperature – Hotter or colder air has an effect on
vehicle aerodynamics and range.
POWER INDICATOR GAUGE
The cluster display
features a power
indicator gauge to help
track energy use and
extend battery range.
The gauge displays
the consumption
of the propulsion
battery and, when
regenerative braking is
active, the amount of
instantaneous power
being regenerated.
