Operation:
Manual Discharge Position:
Unscrew the knob counter-clockwise one
turn. This position is used mainly when
lling the system.
Service Instructions
The cartage (knob) portion of the vent contains the hygroscopic disc. The
car
tridge can
easily be replaced without draining the system. The disc will
deteriorate
overtime It
is necessary to replace the cartridge at least every two
years.
Automatic Discharge Position:
Turn the knob clockwise until it seats
completely. Valve will vent air automatically.
Replacement Cartridge:
Allow system to cool before replacing
cartridge. Remove cartridge by
unscrewing knob counter-clockwise. A
small ball inside the body prevents water
from escaping. Replacement cartridge
Part number: 508100A.
CAUTION: Corrosion or leakage can cause damage or
injury. Periodically inspect for signs of corrosion or
leakage. If corrosion or leakage is note, the vent must be
replaced. Replace the hygroscopic cartridge at least every
two years or sooner if installed in aluminum radiators.
