This document describes the HT-580 call center business telephone, a specialized headset telephone designed for professional use in call centers. It emphasizes high-quality voice communication, user comfort, and a range of features to enhance efficiency and user experience.
The HT-580 telephone offers robust functionality for managing calls. It supports automatic or manual reception of incoming calls, with a unique design that ensures normal incoming call display under automatic mode after the second ring. The device features FSK/DTMF caller ID display with automatic checking, storing up to 30 groups of 16-digit incoming numbers and 5 groups of 16-digit outgoing numbers. Users can set up a 2-digit PABX code and utilize a 32-digit pre-dial and edit function for efficient dialing.
For call management, the telephone includes a mute function with an LED indicator, music on hold, and adjustable headset receiver volume via a circular switcher. The ringer volume can be set to high, low, or off, with the option to redirect the ring to the headset. Flash time is adjustable (100/600ms) to accommodate different PABX systems. The device also incorporates a power-saving function.
The telephone's interface includes an LCD display that shows the default date when connected, incoming numbers during a call, and talking time when active. It indicates "NEW" for new numbers (blinking) and "REP" if an incoming number already exists. Function keys allow for setup, deletion of numbers, checking incoming and outgoing call logs, redialing, and adjusting LCD brightness contrast. A VIP function allows users to mark important numbers, preventing their deletion and displaying a lock icon.
The HOLD function allows users to mute the microphone and send music to the receiver during a call, returning to the conversation by pressing the ON/OFF key. The MUTE function silences the microphone with a red LED indicator. REDIAL redials the last number when off-hook. The FLASH key enables a new dial tone or tripartite call, with adjustable flash times.
The device supports two RJ11 headset ports, allowing for headset switching during calls, which is useful for call center training. A 3.5mm recorder port enables connection to a PC voice card for recording conversations.
The HT-580 is designed for comfortable and prolonged use. Its headset features a noise-cancellation microphone and a comfortable, durable design. A special noise cancellation feature activates during power-on and power-off to prevent sudden loud noises from hurting the ear.
The headset itself is highly adjustable. It can rotate 300 degrees and be used on either side. The steel sheet of the headset should rest on the top of the head and can be shrunk to fit different head sizes. The safeguard plastic can move 360 degrees to press close to the head, and the headset clip can also move 360 degrees to ensure the receiver is close to the ear. For optimal talking quality, the microphone should be positioned approximately 2 cm from the user's lips. The talking pipe is bendable to suit individual preferences.
The telephone offers flexible call modes: "MOVE" for manual call reception (pressing ON/OFF to answer) and "AUTO" for automatic reception after two rings. The "AUTO" mode is recommended for users who do not need the telephone to turn off automatically.
The MIC switcher allows users to designate HEADSET A or HEADSET B as the main headset for talking, while the other becomes a monitoring headset without talking capability. This is particularly useful for training scenarios.
Setting up the device involves configuring date and time, area codes, PABX codes, and automatic IP settings. The LCD guides users through these settings, allowing adjustments with UP/DOWN keys and confirmation with the SET key. The device supports both pulse and tone dialing modes, which can be switched via the SET menu.
Incoming call numbers are automatically displayed with date and time, indicating "New Call" or "Repeat" for existing numbers. Confidential calls are shown as "---P---", and incorrect numbers as "---E---". Users can review incoming and outgoing call numbers, search rapidly through logs, and call back numbers directly. The system can automatically add a "0" for region codes when calling back. The pre-dial function allows users to enter and edit numbers before dialing.
The AUTO IP function, once configured, automatically adds a pre-set IP number when dialing out numbers that start with "0" or when calling back such numbers. Similarly, the PABX-code function automatically adds the PABX code to incoming or pre-dialed numbers (if they exceed 6 digits and the PABX code wasn't manually input) or to IP numbers, with a 1-second pause for compatibility with different PABX machines.
The manual outlines the scope of the product guarantee, covering the telephone's keys, ports, speaker, internal electronics, headset receiver, microphone, and cord. It specifically addresses issues where the telephone or headset cannot talk, has weak or unadjustable talk volume, or has non-functional/defective keys.
Items beyond the guarantee include the headset sponger and ear leather cover, telephone feet, and other normal wear-and-tear parts. The guarantee is void if the telephone or headset is not operated according to the manual, opened without permission, damaged by incorrect connections to other equipment, or subjected to human-made damage such as crashes, breaks, wetting, or pulling. This clear delineation helps users understand what is covered and how to maintain their device to ensure longevity.
