1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Camden CM-30 series illuminated Exit switches are designed to
mount into a deep style single gang electrical box. The large 2” square
translucent button is easy to push. One momentary micro switch is
provided with Form C output, rated at 10 amps@125 VAC. CM-30E
supplied with a 12V DC long-life LED.
3. MOUNTING
NOTES:
If CM-30E will be used with 24V DC, the supplied in-line resistor, must
not be removed.
IMPORTANT:
Leave resistor on for 24 Volts,
Cut o resistor for 12 Volts

1. Push the color-coded leads onto the switch terminals (if not already
installed), as per the enclosed diagram. If illumination is not required,
the Red & Black wires can be removed.
2. Connect the appropriate wires to your devices. Tuck wiring into box,
and fasten switch plate using screws provided.
4. WARRANTY
Camden Door Controls guarantees the CM-30 to be free from
manufacturing defects for 3 years from date of sale. If during the rst
3 years the CM-30 fails to perform correctly, it may be returned to our
factory where it will be repaired or replaced (at our discretion) without
charge. There is no warranty for LED damage due to over voltage!

Function Description:

The primary function of the CM-30E is to serve as an illuminated exit switch. When pressed, the large 2-inch square translucent button activates a momentary micro switch, which in turn triggers an associated access control device (e.g., an electric strike or magnetic lock) to unlock a door, allowing egress. The switch is designed for mounting into a deep-style single-gang electrical box, ensuring a clean and integrated installation. The CM-30E model includes a long-life 12V DC LED that illuminates the "Push to Exit" button, providing visual indication and making the exit point easily identifiable, especially in low-light conditions. The switch provides a Form C output, meaning it has both Normally Open (NO) and Normally Closed (NC) contacts, offering flexibility in wiring to various access control systems. If illumination is not required, the red and black wires connected to the LED can be removed during installation.

Usage Features:

• Ease of Use: The large 2-inch square translucent button is designed for easy activation, making it user-friendly for all individuals.
• Illumination: The integrated green LED provides clear visual feedback, enhancing visibility and usability, particularly in emergency situations or dimly lit environments.
• Versatile Wiring: The Form C output (Normally Open, Normally Closed, and Common contacts) allows for flexible integration with a wide range of access control panels and locking devices. The color-coded leads (Orange for Normally Closed, Blue for Normally Open, Grey for Common, Red for LED positive, Black for LED negative) simplify wiring.
• Voltage Compatibility: The LED operates on both 12V DC and 24V DC power supplies. An in-line resistor is supplied with the CM-30E; this resistor must be left in place for 24V DC operation and cut off for 12V DC operation. This ensures proper LED function and prevents damage from over-voltage.
• Secure Mounting: The switch is designed to be fastened using standard screws or tamper-proof screws (included), providing a secure installation.
• Durable Construction: The switch is built to withstand frequent use, with the LED rated for 100,000 hours of operation.

Maintenance Features:

• LED Replacement: Access to the LED (or light bulb in other models) is achieved by first removing the Cherry switch from its two plastic retaining pins. The white retainer assembly can then be squeezed between the finger and thumb, gently rocked back and forth, and pulled free from the black threaded portion. This allows the LED to be pulled out and replaced.
• Resistor Management: For 24V DC applications, the supplied in-line resistor must remain connected to the LED wiring. For 12V DC applications, this resistor must be cut off. This is a critical step to prevent LED damage due to over-voltage and is a key maintenance consideration during initial setup or voltage changes.
• Warranty: Camden Door Controls offers a 3-year warranty against manufacturing defects from the date of sale. If the CM-30E fails within this period, it can be returned for repair or replacement at Camden's discretion. However, it is important to note that there is no warranty for LED damage due to over-voltage, emphasizing the importance of correct resistor management.
• Cleaning: The device is designed for indoor use and can be cleaned with a damp cloth. The supplied in-line resistor, if used with 24V DC, must not be removed. If the CM-30E is used with 24V DC, the supplied in-line resistor must not be removed.
