Built-in
Flash
In
the
Basic
Zone
modes,
if
you
pop-up
the
built-flash
beforehand,
it
will
fire
automatically
under
low-light
or
backlit
conditions.
In
the
Creative
Zone
modes,
you
can
pop
up
the
built-in
flash
and
fire
the
flash
at
any
time
regardless
of
the
ambient
light
level.
To
retract
the
flash
head,
push
It
down
by
hand.

the
built-in
flash
will
not
fire.
AF-Assist
Beam
When
the
camera
has
difficulty
focusing,
the
AF-assist
beam
Illuminates
the
subject
to
aid
focusing.
The
AF-assist
beam
operates
in
the
Basic
Zone
and
Creative
Zone
modes.

The
AF-assist
beam
is
effective
up
to
about
4
meters.
If
an
EOS-dedicated,
external
Speedlite
(sold
separately)
is
attached
to
the
camera,
the
Speedlite’s
built-in
AF-assist
lamp
will
light
instead.
The
AF-assist
beam
operates
in
the
Basic
Zone
and
Creative
Zone
modes.
If
the
camera
has
difficulty
focusing
the
subject,
the
AF-assist
beam
will
be
emitted
by
the
camera
or
external,
EOS-dedicated
Speedlite.
Single-frame
and
Continuous
Shooting
The
film
advance
mode
(single
or
continuous)
when
the
shutter
button
is
held
down
