  If the Canon Printer does not feed paper properly, check the following: * Ensure you are using appropriate paper that isn't too thick or curled. * The Paper Feed Roller may be dirty and require cleaning, but only clean when necessary to avoid wear. * Make sure the paper is loaded correctly. * Confirm the paper stack does not exceed the paper support load limit. * Check for any foreign objects in the Rear Tray. * If printing on envelopes, ensure they are prepared and loaded as described in the manual.

  If your Canon printer is printing blurred images, colors are wrong, or straight lines are misaligned, ensure that you load the media with the printable side facing up. If you are using paper with one printable surface, printing on the wrong side of such paper may cause unclear prints or prints with reduced quality. Also, remove the FINE Cartridge, then reinstall it, and check that the protective tape is removed.

  If the Alarm Lamp flashes orange two times on your Canon Printer, it means the printer is out of paper, or the paper does not feed. Reload paper in the Rear Tray and press the RESUME/CANCEL button.

  If the Alarm Lamp flashes orange eight times on your Canon Printer, the ink absorber is almost full. Before the ink absorber becomes completely full, contact a Canon service representative.

Why is my Canon Printer scratching the printed surface?

  If your Canon Printer's printed surface is scratched or the paper is smudged, check that you are using an appropriate type of paper that is not too thick or curled. Adjust the position of the Paper Thickness Lever according to the type of paper you are printing on. Resize your original document in your application software if you are printing beyond the recommended printing area. Cleaning the Paper Feed Roller will wear the roller, so perform this procedure only when necessary.
