Red-eye Reduction Function
With flash pholography in dark placas, the subject’s eyes
may appear red, This phenomenon Is called "red-eye" and
occurs when Hash illumination reflects oil the retina.
When this function <B> Is set, the red-eye reduction lamp
lights to illuminate the subject lor about one second before
the Hash is tired. This will minimize the chances ot red-eye.

is to increase the eflectlveness of the red-eye
reduction function. It you want to shoot right away,
use the Hash mode button to turn olt the red-eye
reduction lunction.
Important guidelines tor using the red-eye
reduction function
1. This function Is not eHective unless the subject
looks directly at the red-eye reduction lamp while
It Is lit. Be sure to tell your subject to look
straight at the lamp.
2. Stay within about 2 m (6.6 It.) of your subject.
3. The eHicacy of the red-eye reduction (unction
varies from person to person.
4. Set the lens to the wide-angle end.
5. Try to raise the ambient light level as much as
possible.
