Overview

The Cantek C12RSH is a Straight Line Ripsaw designed for precision ripping of wood workpieces. This industrial machine is built for durability, accuracy, and operator safety, featuring a robust construction and advanced operational controls.

Function Description:

The primary function of the C12RSH is to perform straight-line ripping operations on wood. It utilizes a feed chain and pressure rollers to guide the workpiece through a rotating saw blade, ensuring precise and consistent cuts. The machine is equipped with various safety features to protect the operator from potential hazards such as kickback and contact with moving parts. A central lubrication system maintains optimal performance of the feed chain and guide track, while a dust collection outlet helps keep the work area clean.

Usage Features:

  • Precision-Processed Feed Chain and Guide Track: Constructed from special cast iron with heat-treated and ground high-grade steel connecting pins for maximum durability and smooth operation.
  • Eight Pressure Rollers: Arranged in six rows on both sides of the saw blade, supported by hinges, to hold the workpiece stably during cutting.
  • Precision-Built Saw Arbor Mounting: Made of nickel-chrome steel, heat-treated, accurately ground, and dynamically balanced. It runs on precision angular-contact ball bearings to eliminate radial run-out and axial thrust at high speeds, ensuring accuracy of saw blade and workpiece profile.
  • Powerful Arbor Drive Motor: The saw arbor is driven by a motor via V-belts, with multiple HP options to suit different work requirements.
  • Variable Feeding Speeds: The feeding speed can be adjusted variably between 17-40 M/min for optimal cutting, or through a 5-step speed system (18, 22, 28, 34, 42 M/min).
  • Rigid Cabinet Construction: The machine base is welded with steel plate, providing a rigid structure that ensures strength and stability.
  • Movable and Fixed Anti-Kickback Fingers: Features an auto-adjust design for anti-kickback fingers positioned between the first and second rollers. These fingers maintain a safe position regardless of pressure roller height adjustments. Additional rows of anti-kickback fingers (upper and bottom) and a lateral safety guard provide comprehensive protection against workpiece kickback.
  • Self-Lubrication System: A central lubrication system ensures a continuous oil film between the feed chain and guide track. A warning lamp indicates low oil levels, and the feed chain automatically stops to prevent damage, extending the service life of these components.
  • Control Panel: Features an emergent STOP button, saw blade START/STOP buttons, power indicator, feed chain insufficient lubrication indicator, and feed chain START/STOP buttons for intuitive operation.
  • Adjustable Rip Fence: The fence position can be adjusted and clamped to control the cutting width, with a scale for precise measurement.
  • Pressure Roller Height Adjustment: Pressure rollers can be raised or lowered via a handwheel and locked with a lever. The height adjustment includes an indicator, and it is recommended to set the rollers 2-3mm lower than the workpiece thickness for optimal pressure.
  • Safety Precautions: The manual emphasizes strict adherence to safety guidelines, including wearing leather gloves and apron, standing at the side of the machine (outside the 30-degree danger zone), and never attempting to straighten a workpiece with hands once it enters the machine. It also warns against feeding warped or multiple planks.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: Regular cleaning of all machine parts, especially the feed chain and lubrication inlets, is crucial. Sawdust should be removed daily using an air gun.
  • Lubrication:
    • Daily: Check and fill the feed chain lubrication tank. The machine will stop automatically if lubricant is insufficient. Use high-quality lubricant and prevent impurities from entering the tank.
    • Every 2400-2500 Working Hours: Add grease to the saw arbor bearings using a grease gun. Clean the grease gun nozzle before use to prevent impurities from damaging the bearings. Oiling nozzles are located on the top of the outer shell of the saw arbor (under the cover) and on the bottom of the outer shell (under the pulley cover).
    • Feed Chain Speed Reducer: Change the oil in the feed chain speed-reducer every 2500 working hours. Use SAE 90# lubricating oil.
  • Belt Adjustment and Replacement:
    • Saw Arbor Belt: The saw arbor belt tension should be re-tightened after the first 4 working hours, and then every 200 working hours. Belts should be inspected and replaced if worn.
    • Variable Speed Belt: For variable speed models, the belt should be inspected and replaced if worn. This involves removing the cover, loosening screws, and adjusting the belt to the desired speed.
    • 5-Step Speed Belt: For 5-step speed models, the belt is changed between different grooves on the decelerator and feeding motor pulleys. This requires shutting off power and using wrenches to adjust tension.
  • Oil Supply Adjustment for Feed Chain: The machine features either an electric lubricator or a mechanical lubricator.
    • Electric Lubricator: Allows adjustment of the interval between lubrications (MIN, SEC, INT, DIS) and the duration of each lubrication (FEED, RST).
    • Mechanical Lubricator: Involves adjusting "ADJUST SCREW" nuts to control the oil supply. The manual provides detailed instructions for adjusting the oil output based on the feeding speed.
  • Weekly Cleanup: Involves raising and lowering the Roller Housing several times to dislodge accumulated sawdust and cleaning the Screw and Nut to prevent damage.

The C12RSH is a robust and reliable machine designed for high-precision wood ripping, with comprehensive features for operation, safety, and maintenance to ensure long-term performance.
