Overview

This document is a user instruction manual for a double induction cooker, Model: CZ-162. It provides comprehensive guidance on the safe and effective use, installation, and maintenance of the appliance.

Function Description

The double induction cooker is designed for domestic use, specifically for cooking food. It utilizes induction technology, which heats pots and pans directly through electromagnetic fields, offering efficient and precise cooking. The hob features two cooking zones, each with adjustable power levels, allowing for versatile cooking options. A key feature is the "INDUCTION SYSTEM" compatibility, meaning only specific types of cookware will work with the hob.

Usage Features

  • Switching On/Off: The hob is switched on by pressing a dedicated button. If no heating zone is selected within 120 seconds of switching on, the hob automatically switches off, promoting energy efficiency and safety.
  • Adjusting Cooking Zones: Once the hob is on and a pan is placed on a chosen cooking zone, the user selects the zone using a corresponding button. Power levels can then be adjusted from low to high using dedicated buttons.
  • Booster & Double Ring Function:
    • Booster: For induction cooking zones, a booster function allows the zone to operate at 2400W continuously for 5 minutes, ideal for rapid heating. Pressing the button again returns the zone to its previous power level.
    • Double Ring: For ceramic hob zones (if applicable to this model, though the image shows an induction hob), a dedicated button turns the outer ring on and off, offering flexibility for different pan sizes.
  • Child Lock: This safety feature prevents accidental activation of the hob controls. It is activated by holding a specific button for three seconds, indicated by "Lo" on the timer display. The same procedure deactivates it.
  • Timer Function: The hob includes a timer that can be set for a maximum of 99 minutes (1 hour and 39 minutes) for all cooking zones. Users select the desired cooking zone, press the clock symbol button, and then use the timer function buttons to set the cooking time.
  • Menu Functions: The hob offers specialized cooking functions accessible via menu buttons:
    • Power: The first button's light flashes, displaying the furnace's power, which can be adjusted.
    • Stir Fry: The second button illuminates for stir-fry, showing the temperature, which can also be adjusted.
    • Stewing: The third button illuminates for stewing, setting the furnace to a fixed power of 1800W.
    • Steam: The fourth button illuminates for steaming, setting the furnace to a fixed power of 1600W.
    • Note that when Steam & Stewing functions are active, the power cannot be changed.
  • Auto Switch Off: The hob automatically switches off if no cooking time is set, if the user forgets to switch it off, or if there's no operation for an extended period, enhancing safety and preventing energy waste.
  • Residual Heat Indicator ("H"): Each cooking zone is equipped with an indicator that alerts the user when the zone is still hot after use. This "H" display allows for safe handling and can also be used to keep food warm or melt butter. The display turns off once the zone cools down.
  • Incorrect or Missing Pot Indicator ("E0"): If an unsuitable, incorrectly positioned, or undersized pot is used, the display will show "E0." If no pot is detected within 120 seconds, the hob switches off.
  • Cookware Compatibility: Only pots and pans bearing the "INDUCTION SYSTEM" symbol are suitable. A magnet can be used to check compatibility; if a pot is not magnetically detectable, it's unsuitable. Pots should have a smooth bottom to prevent scratching the hob, and their bottom diameter should be at least 10cm. Metal pots with enamelled bottoms or those with imperfectly flat bottoms should be avoided to prevent damage to the glass-ceramic top.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning:
    • Safety First: Before cleaning, ensure all cooking zones are switched off and the residual heat indicator ("H") is not displayed.
    • Avoid Abrasives: Do not use abrasive sponges or scouring pads, as they can ruin the glass surface. Steam cleaners are also prohibited.
    • Regular Cleaning: After each use, once the hob is cool, it should be cleaned to remove food residuals and stains.
    • Sugar Spills: Sugar or high-sugar-content foods should be removed immediately as they can damage the hob.
    • Scratch Prevention: Salt, sugar, and sand can scratch the glass surface, so care should be taken.
    • Recommended Tools: Use a soft cloth, absorbent kitchen paper, or a specific hob cleaner, following the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Troubleshooting Guide: The manual includes a troubleshooting section to address common issues. It advises users to check the electricity supply, ensure the hob is dry, and consult a table for alphanumeric error codes (E0, E2, E3, E4) and their possible causes and remedies. For most error codes, the user is advised to contact after-sales service.
  • Noises Made by the Hob: The manual explains that whistling or crackling sounds during normal operation are common with induction hobs. These noises originate from the pots and pans themselves, due to characteristics like multi-layered or uneven bottoms, and are not indicative of a defect. Additionally, the hob has an internal cooling system with a fan, which may be audible during operation and for several minutes after the hob is switched off. This fan noise is normal and essential for the appliance's proper functioning.
