This document is an instruction manual for the Caple Sense warming drawer, model WD290BK.
Function Description:
The Caple Sense warming drawer WD290BK is designed exclusively for domestic use for heating dishes. It utilizes a hot air system with a fan to create excellent and even distribution of warmth from a heating element, ensuring dishes are heated quickly and uniformly. A protection grille prevents direct contact with the heating element and fan, enhancing safety. The drawer's base is covered with an anti-slip material to prevent dishes from moving when the drawer is opened or closed. The appliance is not intended for keeping warm, re-heating, or cooking foods and beverages.

The temperature scale uses symbols rather than absolute °C values to represent optimal temperatures for different dish groups:
- For cups or glasses (approx. 40°C): Ideal for pre-heating glasses to keep hot beverages warm longer, allowing the container to be touched comfortably.

- MAX (approx. 75°C): Maximum temperature setting for dishes. Appropriate mitts or pot holders are recommended.
- Heating Times: Heating times vary based on dish material and thickness, load amount, load arrangement, and temperature setting. Users are advised to determine optimal settings through practical experience.

Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning: All cleaning operations must be performed when the appliance is disconnected from the electrical mains (main switch off, safety switch off, or unplugged). When unplugging, hold the plug, not the cord.
- General Cleaning: Clean all surfaces with a soft sponge, mild detergent, and lukewarm water, then dry with a soft cloth.
- Important Cleaning Restrictions: Do not clean the grille area (protecting internal components) or the switch and thermostat area with water, as liquid penetration into live electrical parts can cause failures, short circuits, and hazards.
- Front Surface: The front of the appliance can scratch easily; clean glass surfaces with a special non-abrasive product.
- Prohibited Cleaning Agents: Do not use detergents containing soda, acids, or chloride; abrasive detergents (powder or cream); or abrasive sponges (e.g., steel wool pads) or sponges with residual abrasive detergent.
- Anti-slip Bottom: The anti-slip bottom of the drawer is removable for thorough cleaning. It can be hand-washed with warm water and a gentle detergent, then thoroughly dried before being placed back in the drawer.
- Installation: Installation, maintenance, and repair work should only be carried out by qualified, authorized personnel. Incorrect work can pose hazards and void the warranty. The appliance must be disconnected from the electrical mains during these operations.
- Electrical Connection: A qualified electrician should perform the electrical connection, ensuring the appliance's technical data (voltage, frequency) matches the mains supply. The appliance requires an approved earth wire for electrical safety. A separation device for each pole (switches with at least 3mm contact opening) must be provided if the electrical outlet is inaccessible or a fixed connection is made. Caple is not liable for damages due to lack or interruption of the earth wire.
- Extension Cords: If an extension cord is used, ensure it and the connection are insulated against humidity.
- Damage Check: Upon unpacking, check for damage. Do not use a damaged appliance; contact the retailer immediately.
- Child Safety: Children should be supervised and not allowed to play with the appliance. The appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless supervised or instructed by a responsible person. Children have delicate skin more sensitive to heat.
- Burn Hazard: The inside of the appliance can reach high temperatures. Use oven gloves when removing hot dishes. If the on button is pressed, the drawer starts heating, posing a burn risk.
- Prohibited Items: Do not keep plastic or flammable objects in the appliance, as they may melt or catch fire when the appliance is on.
- Structural Integrity: Do not lean or sit on the open drawer, as this may damage the telescopic carriage.
- Room Heating: Do not use the appliance to heat the room.
- Steam Cleaners: Never use steam cleaners, as they can cause short circuits and damage.
- Object Insertion: Never insert objects (screwdrivers, pointed objects, paper, etc.) through the slots in the protection grille of the heating element and fan.
- Supply Cord: If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or a similarly qualified person to avoid hazards.
- Humidity: Humidity from foods or beverages may cause problems for the appliance.
- Combination Appliance Installation: The warming drawer can be inserted with other appliances (e.g., ovens) with a maximum weight of 40 kg, provided they have adequate cooling ventilation. The combined appliance is positioned directly onto the warming drawer without additional shelves.
- Securing: The warming drawer must be firmly secured to the cabinet by inserting two provided screws into the fixing holes after centering and aligning it.
Troubleshooting:
The manual provides a troubleshooting table for common issues:
- Dishes not warm enough: Check if the appliance is on, correct temperature is set, heat outlets are not covered, and dishes have been heated long enough.
- Dishes not getting warm: Check for fan noise (fan working but heating element defective), fan not working (defective), main electrical switch off, or unplugged power cord.
- Dishes overheat: The temperature setting device may be defective.
- On/off switch light not on: The control light of the switch is defective.
