  • Safety Features: Flame failure device automatically cuts off gas supply if the flame is extinguished.

Usage Features

  • Burner Operation: To light a burner, press and turn the control knob to the small star symbol. For models with a flame failure device, hold the knob pressed for 5-6 seconds after ignition to allow the safety device to engage. Flame intensity can be adjusted between maximum and minimum levels.
  • Control Knobs: Symbols indicate "No gas flow or Off," "Maximum gas flow or 'high' flame and lighting position," and "Minimum gas flow or 'low' flame."
  • Cookware Guidelines:
    • Use flat-bottomed pots with diameters suited to the burner.
    • Recommended pot diameters:
      • Large (Rapid): 180-220mm
      • Medium (Semi-Rapid): 120-200mm
      • Small (Auxiliary): 80-160mm
      • Triple Crown / Double Crown (Wok): 220-260mm
    • Do not use pots larger than the maximum specified.
    • Do not place metal objects (knives, forks, spoons, pot lids) on the hob as they can become very hot.
    • Do not use grill pans, earthenware casserole dishes, or cast iron plates for prolonged cooking on maximum power, especially on glass hobs.
    • Use only a wok support supplied or recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the kitchen is well-ventilated, especially when the appliance is in use, by keeping natural ventilation holes open or installing a mechanical extractor hood. Prolonged intensive use may require additional ventilation.
  • Gas Type Adaptation: The cooker can be adapted to different gas types by replacing nozzles and adjusting the minimum thermal load regulation valve. This procedure does not require removing the appliance from the worktop.

Maintenance Features

  • General Cleaning:
    • Clean regularly after each use, once the appliance has cooled down.
    • Use a soft cloth and warm water with a little washing-up liquid.
    • Avoid cleaning agents containing soda, alkalines, ammonia, acids, chlorides, descaling agents, stain/rust removers, abrasive agents, solvent-based cleaners, dishwasher cleaner, grill/oven cleaners, glass cleaners.
    • Do not use hard, abrasive brushes, sponges, or sharp pointed objects.
    • Do not use a high-pressure steam cleaner or hot steam.
  • Stainless Steel Surfaces: Clean with a microfibre cloth or a solution of warm water and washing-up liquid. For stubborn soiling, soak first. Dry with a soft cloth. Stainless steel cooktop cleaner can be used for the frame, applied with even pressure following the "grain."
  • Printed Surfaces: Remove soiling immediately to prevent damage to the printing. Do not use stainless steel cleaner on printed surfaces.
  • Pan Supports and Control Knobs: Remove pan supports for cleaning. Clean with warm water and washing-up liquid. Soak stubborn soiling. Dry all surfaces with a clean cloth. Do not clean pan supports in a dishwasher.
  • Burners: Dismantle and clean by hand using warm water and washing-up liquid. Wipe parts that cannot be removed with a damp cloth. Carefully clean the ignition candle and flame failure device with a well-wrung cloth, ensuring the ignitor does not get wet. Ensure flame slits are clean and dry. Do not clean burner parts in a dishwasher.
  • Glass Surface: After each use, allow to cool and clean. Use special conditioning agents for regular cleaning. Wipe dust or particles from the hob surface and pan bottom before use to prevent scratches. Avoid steel wool, abrasive sponges, and aggressive detergents.
  • Annual Service: Recommended by an authorised person, especially if issues like incomplete ignition, yellow tipping, carbon deposition, lifting, floating, lighting back, or objectionable odour are noticed.

Important Warnings

  • Installation and connection must be performed by an authorised person according to AS/NZS 5601 and relevant local regulations.
  • The appliance and accessible parts become hot during use; keep children under 8 years away unless continuously supervised.
