This document describes the Cardini OV9150 90cm Built-In Electric Oven, providing instructions for its safe operation, maintenance, and installation.
Function Description
The Cardini OV9150 is a 90cm built-in electric oven designed for household use, not commercial or outdoor use. It offers various cooking functions, including baking, roasting, grilling, thawing, and dehydrating food. The oven is equipped with a control panel featuring retractable knobs for selecting functions and temperature, an end-of-cooking timer/clock button, and indicator lights for temperature and function.
Available Cooking Functions:
- Off: The appliance is switched off.
- Oven Lamp: Switches on the oven lamp without a cooking function.
- Defrost: Thaws food like meat, poultry, bread, and desserts using a fan to circulate warm air.
- Double Grilling with Fan: Uses both inner and outer top heating elements with the fan for grilling large amounts of meat.
- Double Grilling: Uses both inner and outer top heating elements for grilling large quantities.
- Grill-small: Normal grilling using only the inner part of the top heating element for direct heat.
- Convection with Fan: Provides quick and uniform cooking with top, bottom heating elements, and a fan, ideal for baking flans, sweets, and roasting.
- Convection: Bakes and roasts food on one rack position, distributing heat evenly from top and bottom.
- Bottom Heater: For baking cakes with a crispy bottom and preserving foods, distributing heat from the bottom.
- 3D Convection: For sweets and biscuits on 1 and 2 levels, with the fan distributing heat from the circular heating element on the rear wall.
- ECO Function: Equivalent to 3D Convection but operates without oven lamps to save energy. To switch on lamps in ECO mode, set the selector to 3D Convection, then return to ECO.

- Electrical Connection: Requires a dedicated circuit with an isolation device (circuit breaker) allowing complete disconnection for all poles, with a contact opening width of no less than 3mm. Wiring, circuit breaker, and isolation switch must be suitable for a 16amps load. The appliance must be earthed.
Usage Features
- Control Panel: Features retractable knobs for function and temperature selection. Knobs can be popped out for use and pushed in when not in use or after cooking.
- Timer Functions:
- Alarm: Set an alarm time (0:01 ~ 23:59) to buzz as a warning to turn off the oven.
- Duration: Set a cooking duration (0:01-23:59) after which the oven power will turn off and an alarm will sound.
- Time Function: Set the current time (24hrs format).
- Lock Function: A child lock feature that can be activated by pressing the lock button for 3 seconds, preventing accidental changes to settings.
- Rack Positions: The oven has 5 different levels for inserting accessories like wire racks and dripping pans.
- Accessories:
- Wire Rack: Supports baking pans, pastry tins, and other containers, and is used for grilling meat, fish, and toast. Must be installed in the correct direction to prevent food from sliding out.
- Dripping Pan: Collects juices from grilled foods or for direct cooking. Should be removed if not required.
- Telescopic Rails (optional): Allows for easy positioning and movement of wire racks or dripping pans on any shelf level.
- First Use Preparation: Before initial use, the oven and accessories should be cleaned. The oven should then be preheated empty using specific functions (Convection with fan, Double Grilling with fan, Grill-small) at maximum temperature for specified durations to burn off residues.
- Energy Saving Tips:
- Keep the oven door closed as much as possible during operation.
- Use metal plates for better energy efficiency.
- Place food in the oven without preheating if possible.
- Reduce oven temperature for the last 3-10 minutes of cooking for longer dishes, utilizing residual heat.
- Use residual heat to warm other foods.
- Utilize cooking functions that include the fan to save energy.
- For keeping food hot, choose the lowest temperature setting.
Maintenance Features
- Cleaning and Care:
- Clean the front of the appliance with a soft cloth and warm soapy water.
- Use regular detergent for metal surfaces.
- Clean the inside of the appliance after each use to prevent grease build-up and fire risk.
- Remove stubborn dirt with special oven detergents.
- Clean accessories after each use with a soft cloth and warm soapy water; do not use strong detergents, sharp objects, or dishwashers for non-stick items.
- Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, solvents, or metal objects on any surfaces, especially the oven door glass.
- Never use a steam cleaner.
- Ensure the oven is cold before cleaning heating elements to prevent burns.
- Removing Shelf Supports: Shelf supports are removable for easier cleaning of the oven interior. They can be detached by pulling the front and then the rear from the side walls. Reinstallation is the reverse procedure.
- Removing and Cleaning the Oven Door: The oven door, equipped with three glass panels, can be removed for thorough cleaning.
- Open the door completely.
- Position hinge hooks "A" outwards.
- Close the door slowly until hooks "A" lock into slots "B".
- Press lightly inwards on the door to detach hinges "C" from slots "D", then pull the door off.
- After cleaning, reinstall in reverse order, ensuring hooks "A" are inwards before closing.
- Cleaning Oven Door Glass:
- After removing the oven door, place it on a surface with the inner glass facing upwards.
- Carefully raise the double glazing approximately 25 degrees to unhook retaining springs.
- Push the double glazing in the direction of the arrow and pull it out for cleaning. The middle glazing can also be removed.
- Reassemble in reverse order after cleaning.
- Changing the Lightbulb:
- Disconnect the appliance from the electric mains.
- Wear protective gloves.
- Unscrew the glass lamp cover anticlockwise (it may be stiff).
- Replace the light bulb with a new one of the same type (halogen lamps 25-40 W / 220 V-240 V, T300°C).
- Screw the glass lamp cover back into place.
- Disassembly of Convection Motor (for servicing):
- Turn off the electrical power supply to the appliance.
- Use a screwdriver to remove screws on the back of the cavity inside to disassemble the convection motor cover, then pull it out from the clipping hole.
- Reassemble in reverse order.
