Do you have a question about the careium Eliza S and is the answer not in the manual?
The Eliza S (A150) is a digital social alarm and smartcare hub designed to provide assistance and monitoring services, particularly for individuals who may experience accidents or falls when alone. It is adaptable for future needs and connects to a wide range of accessories and welfare services, offering a tailor-made solution for users.
The Eliza S allows users to call for assistance by pressing either a button on a radio trigger or the integral alarm button on the device itself. Upon activation, the Eliza S calls an alarm receiver to summon help. The device has a built-in module supporting 2G, 3G, and 4G mobile networks, enabling alarm transfers over mobile telephone networks. It offers two-way hands-free voice communication, even if the user is far from the device, utilizing Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) calling via SIP, a standard protocol for initiating speech and video over digital connections. Beyond voice-connected alarm calls, the Eliza S provides a platform for transferring detailed alarm information, speech messages, and online status. Each Eliza S unit is assigned a unique identification number (ID) that corresponds to personal information stored in the alarm receiving centre (ARC).
The system supports up to 50 radio transmitters (triggers/sensors) that can be programmed with the Eliza S. When an alarm is triggered by a radio transmitter, the battery status of that transmitter is also checked. Up to 10 alarm receivers can be programmed, with alarms identified by a specific alarm code. The person receiving the alarm can then communicate directly with the person who raised it to take appropriate action.
The device includes a rechargeable battery, ensuring operation even during power failures for up to 72 hours (with a new and fully charged battery). In case of a power failure or low battery charge, the device will beep briefly, and the alarm receiving centre will be notified. A blinking status light indicates a low battery charge.

Installation: Installation involves connecting the power supply, turning on the device, and checking indicator lights. The device requires a mini-SIM (2FF) with an appropriate mobile subscription for voice and data. The SIM card must be installed by authorized personnel after removing the top cover and carefully moving the battery aside. PIN codes 1234 or 0000 are not recommended and should be changed if used.
Pairing Radio Triggers: Up to 50 radio triggers/sensors can be paired. This is done by pressing and holding the Green square button for 4 seconds until an audible signal is played and the Power indicator blinks. The radio transmitter is then activated, and Eliza S plays an audible signal upon receiving it. Pairing is confirmed by pressing and releasing the red integral alarm button on Eliza S, followed by another audible signal. The alarm type for the paired trigger can be changed via the optional i-care® online service.
Checking Radio Coverage and Signal Strength: After installation and pairing, the radio coverage should always be checked by activating the radio trigger/accessory in all areas where it is expected to function. The mobile network signal strength can be verified via www.icareonline.com or directly on the device through a service menu. To access the service menu, the top cover must be removed, and the Service menu button pressed. A synthetic voice guides the user through checking signal strength.
Automatic Test: The Eliza S's functionality and communication can be automatically checked as frequently as every other minute through the optional i-care® online service. It can also perform automatic function monitoring or send periodical test reports to the Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC), for example, daily or weekly.
Radio Trigger Features: The radio trigger uses two-way radio communication, confirming receipt of an alarm from Eliza S by changing its indicator light from red to green. If no confirmation is received, the alarm is repeated. The radio trigger is waterproof (IP67) and can be worn with a wristband or neckband, suitable for use in showers and wet environments.
Cleaning: The Eliza S and its radio trigger should be cleaned using a slightly damp cloth. Solvents should not be used.
Battery Replacement: The main battery in Eliza S should be replaced within three years or immediately after a battery alarm not caused by a power cut. Radio trigger batteries should be replaced as per the service manual or by contacting the supplier. Battery replacement for both devices must be performed only by authorized persons.
Reinstatement: If the Eliza S is to be used by a new user, it must be reset to default settings and re-programmed according to the new user's data and requirements.
General Information: Verification of mobile network coverage is crucial during installation. At least one alarm receiver/response centre must be programmed for alarms to be sent. The Eliza S must not come into contact with water or other liquids. Used batteries should be disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner.
Environmental Information: The product complies with EU directives 2012/19/EU (WEEE) and 2006/66/EC (batteries), promoting recycling and waste minimization. It is marked with a crossed-out wheeled bin logo, indicating it should be recycled. The product can be returned free of charge to a recycling station or distributor.
