Overview

The Carico Complete Sanitizing System is a versatile 4-in-1 cleaning appliance designed to sanitize homes faster, more efficiently, and more cost-effectively than traditional methods. It utilizes dry vapor steam to clean and sanitize, reducing the need for dangerous household cleaning products. The system combines vacuuming (wet & dry with water filtration), steam cleaning and sanitizing, simultaneous steam cleaning and vacuuming, and aroma therapy functions.

Function Description

The core of the Carico Complete Sanitizing System is its high-temperature "vapor" steam cleaner, which produces dry vapor steam with approximately 5-6% moisture content. This drier steam is more effective at killing dust mites, mold, viruses, and fungi on contact, and it evaporates quickly, leaving surfaces dry within minutes. This prevents the creation of a damp environment that could foster mold and fungus growth, a common issue with traditional "wet" steam cleaners.

The vacuuming function incorporates an exclusive Ultra Filtration System™, a sophisticated 4-level filtering system that uses nebulized water to capture even the finest particles by binding them to water particles, which are then pulled into a container by gravity. This eliminates the need for disposable paper bags, reducing operating costs and waste. The system vacuums dust and dirt, spraying a micro-sized mist that bonds to particles, removing them from the air and trapping them in the water tank. The filtered air released is clean, fresh, and breathable.

The Carico Connect System™ ensures a secure and proper connection of the hose to the unit, with an audible alarm confirming the connection. The patented design includes small front wheels and a swivel hose connection, providing maximum freedom of movement and preventing hose wear.

The Simple Descaling Process (SDP)™ is a maintenance feature that allows for easy descaling of the boiler and electronic sensor, extending the machine's working life and maintaining efficiency.

Usage Features

Getting Started: Before first use, ensure the power cord is unplugged. Open the tank lid and fill the tank with 0.7 liters (0.18 gal) of cold water, ensuring the level matches the mark on the separator. The boiler tank should be filled with about 0.9 liters (0.24 gal) of water. Soft tap water is recommended, or a mixture of half tap water and half distilled water if tap water is hard, to prevent excessive calcification. Demineralized/distilled water alone is not suitable. After filling, close the tank lids and plug in the unit. If an extension cord is needed, use a 15-amp rated cord with a 3-prong grounded plug.

Hose and Accessories Fitting: Insert the hose firmly into the Carico Connect System™ socket. For floor cleaning, attach the desired accessory to the extension tube using the fit/release button, then connect to the grip handle. A steady blue light indicates the machine is powered. The tank lid fasteners are designed to detach without damage if hit when open and can be easily reattached. The unit includes two tube-carriers for convenient storage of extension tubes.

Vacuum Function: To start the vacuum, press the motor push button (A); a blue light indicates medium speed. Press the speed button on the hose grip handle to start the motor, and hold it to change speed. Release to set the desired speed. Press and quickly release the motor push button to turn off the motor.

Preparing the Boiler (for steam cleaning, ironing & humidification): Press the steam function button to switch on the boiler. A flashing blue light indicates the boiler is building pressure; a steady blue light means steam is ready. Insert the cleaning accessory directly into the hose grip handle or with extension tubes. Press the steam power button on the handle to deliver steam. To prevent accidental steam release, push the steam safety lock to the "Closed" position. A blue water level light indicates the boiler is out of water; refill and press the button twice to reset the warning and re-enable the function.

Vacuuming - Wet & Dry with Water Filter: Only vacuum non-flammable liquids like water and spilled beverages. Always clean the unit after use. For liquids, an empty tank can be used initially. For large amounts of water, use medium or maximum speed. The appliance can suck up to 1.2 liters of liquid; exceeding this triggers an electronic safety switch, requiring immediate shutdown and emptying of the water tank. For solids or mixed waste, fill the water tank as described in "Getting Started." Adjust vacuum power by holding the vacuum speed button on the grip. Replace tank water frequently when vacuuming dust or dirt. Use lowest speed for delicate materials, medium or high for most other jobs.

Steam Cleaning & Sanitizing: Once the boiler pressure is reached (steady blue light), steam is ready. Attach the desired accessory to the hose grip handle or extension tubes. Pull the steam power button to deliver steam. Adjust steam output using the steam regulator, starting at minimum and slowly increasing.

Steam Cleaning & Vacuuming at the Same Time: When using both functions, first heat the boiler and perform some steam cleaning to warm up the Flex Tube, extension tubes, and accessory. Only when the device is fully heated (steady blue light) should the vacuum function be added.

Aroma Therapy: Add a few drops of Carico Aroma Fragrance to the water in the water tank during vacuuming for a pleasant scent. To prepare, open the tank lid, remove the purification tank, and refill the tank with clean water (1 liter/0.26 gal). Add a few drops of Carico-approved concentrated fragrance to the water. Reassemble the purification tank and lid. Switch on the appliance at low or medium speed, pressing the motor button once. Pure and perfumed air will quickly emanate from the grill, refreshing rooms and removing odors. Only put water or Carico fragrances in the tank; do not put fragrances or other chemicals in the boiler.

Accessories:

  • Extension Tubes with Rapid-Lock: Two thermally insulated tubes for desired length, protecting against scalding. One wand has an adjustable handle for user comfort. Max length 3.0 m (9.8 ft).

Maintenance Features

General Maintenance: After intense use (or every six months), check all filtering elements. Clean outer surfaces with a cloth. If the appliance falls or overturns, switch off, disconnect from power, and dry if it comes into contact with water. Do not store with dirty water in the tank to prevent odors and mold. Do not direct water or high-pressure steam at the appliance. Always turn off and disconnect from power before maintenance.

Filters: Replace any damaged filters immediately. Do not use the appliance with damp filters, as this can cause damage. Replace filters if stains or mold appear.

  • Air Intake Filter: Check monthly. Remove and rinse repeatedly, separating it from the cover and machine body. Use small pliers if needed. Wash with cold water. Do not dry on heaters or radiators. Replace yearly or earlier based on condition.
  • Polyester Filter: Inspect monthly. Remove the exhaust filter cover, extract the filter, and wash with warm water if dirty. Allow to dry naturally (not on radiators or heaters). Do not use if damp. Reassemble correctly, ensuring hooks fit into slits and rotating upwards for final fixing. Replace yearly or earlier based on condition.
  • Motor Intake Filter: Check monthly. Remove the tank, then the lower cover (undo central screw), remove the filter, and wash with water. Ensure it is dry before use. Do not dry on heaters or radiators. Replace yearly or earlier based on condition.
  • Upper Lid Filter: Check when cleaning the purification tank. Loosen the knob on the cover, remove the cover, remove the filter, and wash with cold water. Do not dry on heaters or radiators. Replace if stains cannot be removed. Replace yearly or earlier based on condition.

Cleaning Flex Tube: After each use, rinse the hose to prevent odors and deposits. Remove contents from the recovery tank, immerse the hose in clean (preferably warm) water, and aspirate about a quart of water with the vacuum regulator on third speed. Repeat two or three times until clean, emptying the recovery tank each time.

Descaling the Boiler and Electronic Sensor: This operation extends the machine's life by preventing limescale. Limescale affects efficiency and water level detection. Perform at least once a year, depending on water hardness and usage. If steam treatment deteriorates or limescale comes out, it's time to descale.

  • Procedure: Finish cleaning and allow the machine to cool completely (at least two hours). Disconnect from power, remove hose, tank lid, and purification tank. Empty completely. Turn the machine upside down and locate the sensor knob. Unscrew the electronic sensor counter-clockwise. Pour approximately half a glass (0.1 liters) of white non-distilled vinegar into the boiler using the funnel. Fasten the sensor back by turning clockwise (tighten without forcing). Return the appliance to its original position, replace the tank, and close the lid. Connect to power and turn on. Turn the boiler on. Wait about 1 minute, then turn off. Leave for approximately 12 hours, shaking occasionally. After the time has passed, unscrew the electronic sensor counter-clockwise.
  • Sensor Cleaning: For a more thorough cleaning of the electronic sensor, use a glass of white non-distilled vinegar or a mixture of water (70%) and Carico's descaler (30%). Do not use concentrated, undiluted descaling products. Leave the product or vinegar to act on the sensor for at least 2 hours. Fasten the sensor back onto the machine (tighten without forcing).
  • Post-Descaling: The first time after descaling, discharge a little steam onto a dirty cloth several times to empty the steam circuit of any descaling product.

Cleaning Attachments: Empty the tank and vacuum 1 liter of clean tap water through the used accessories. Repeat as needed.
