Using Your Appliance:
Start With Good Hair Maintenance:
- Always keep hair clean and properly conditioned.
- For best results, wash, comb, and dry hair until just damp to touch, though the appliance can be used for touch-ups.
Curling Basics:
- Plug in the appliance and place it on a smooth, dry, flat surface.
- Turn the ON/OFF switch to the ON position.
- Wait for the appliance to heat up.
- Section damp or dry hair evenly and comb through it.
- Press the automatic button and place the curling tong midway up the hair section. Spread the hair evenly between the spoon and barrel.
- Gently slide the curling tong down towards the ends of the hair. To avoid crimped ends, ensure hair is securely wound under the spoon in the direction of the desired curl.
- For curls rolled under, place the spoon on top of the section.
- For flip styles, place the spoon under the section.
- Wind the hair up as far as desired, being careful not to let the tong touch the scalp. Hold for 5-8 seconds, depending on hair texture and length.
- For tighter, bouncier curls, roll less hair.
- For loose, free-flowing curls, roll more hair.
- Repeat the process over the entire head, allowing hair to cool before combing.
- To remove the curling tong, press the automatic curl release and pull the tong away. To "set" the curl, do not comb or brush hair until it cools.
- After use, push the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position and allow the appliance to cool down.
Troubleshooting:
- How to clean curling tongs? Ensure tongs are switched off and cold. Wipe them down with a damp, clean cloth to remove residue from hair care products.
- How to look after the cord on curling tongs? Once cooled, fold the cord as it was in the original packaging. Avoid winding it around your hand, the body of the tongs, or hanging the appliance by its cord, as this can cause the cable to become loose and reduce product integrity.
Cleaning and Care:
- Switch off the unit, unplug from the mains, and allow to cool fully.
- Wipe the casing with a soft damp cloth. DO NOT use chemical cleaners.
- DO NOT immerse the unit in water or other liquid.
- Ensure all parts are dried thoroughly with a soft towel before reusing.
- DO NOT use harsh abrasives or cleaners.
- WARNING! Always allow the appliance to cool before storing.
- WARNING: DO NOT immerse any electrical part of the appliance (motor units or plugs) in water.
