Why does my Carrett Metal Detector make erratic sounds?
    • G
      Gary SanchezJul 27, 2025
Erratic sounds or target ID cursor movement in your Carrett Metal Detector can be caused by electrical interference, excessive metal, nearby metal detectors, or metal structures. Try these steps: 1. Make sure the searchcoil is securely connected and the coil cable is properly wound around the stem. 2. If indoors, be aware of electrical interference and metal in floors and walls. 3. Check for nearby metal detectors or structures like power lines or fences. 4. Adjust the frequency. 5. Reduce the sensitivity setting.

What to do if Target ID Cursor bounces on Carrett Metal Detector?
    • K
      Kendra CarterAug 1, 2025
If the Target ID Cursor bounces on your Carrett Metal Detector, it could be due to an iron target, a non-parallel good target (like a coin), or junk targets near a good target. Try scanning from different directions until the Target ID Cursor becomes more stable. You may also use the Iron Audio feature to help identify iron targets.

Intermittent signals on your Carrett Metal Detector can occur when you find a deeply buried target or one at a difficult angle. Scan from different directions to help define the signal. Also, iron targets may cause intermittent signals; use the Iron Audio feature to help identify them.

Why I'm not finding specific targets with Carrett Metal Detector?
    • J
      Jessica WilliamsAug 19, 2025
If you are not finding specific targets with your Carrett Metal Detector, make sure you are using the correct mode for your type of hunting. If you're hunting for U.S. coins, DISC 2 mode is the best choice for eliminating undesirable targets. The ALL METAL or DISC 1 modes will detect all metal targets.
