  If no functions are working on the Carroll Medical Equipment bed, try the following: * Ensure the bed is connected to AC power and the wall outlet has power. * Check the Master Lockout by holding all three patient lock-out buttons simultaneously to lock/unlock, then try the bed functions. * Lift the head section of the mattress deck and remove the dust shield to check for a green power light (LED) on the control box. If there is no light, replace the CB09 control box.

  If the footboard staff control is working but the pendant is not, consider these steps: 1. Check the patient lock-out buttons on the footboard, as the patient lock-out may be preventing bed operation from the pendant. 2. Verify the cable connection from the pendant to the port on the bed frame. 3. Inspect the pendant connection into the DJB Box located under the head section of the mattress deck. 4. Try unplugging the pendant from its current port and plugging it into the port on the opposite side of the bed. If the pendant works in the new port, replace the DJB Box and T-Cable. 5. If available, test the pendant on a properly functioning bed. If the pendant works on another bed, replace the DJB Box and T-Cable. If the pendant still doesn’t work, replace the pendant itself.

  If the footboard staff control is working but the rail controls are not, consider the following: * Some functions might be locked out. Check the patient lock-out buttons on the footboard, as this lock-out prevents bed operation from the rail controls. * Check the rail controls on both sides of the bed. If only one rail control isn’t working, skip to the next section. If both rail controls are not working, continue to the next step. * Check the cable connections from the rail to the port on the bed frame, ensuring the jack is fully inserted into the port. * Verify the pendant connection into the DJB Box under the head section. * Replace the DJB Box or the CB09 Control Box.

  If the patient controls are working properly, but the footboard staff control is not, check the following: * Ensure the footboard is completely down into the bracket. * Check the cable connection under the lower left side of the footboard. * Inspect the Blindmate connectors for damage. These are the plastic connectors between the bottom of the footboard and the footboard mounting bracket. * Check the footboard staff control cable connection into the DJB Box under the head section of the mattress deck. * Replace the footboard control.
