Congratulations on your selection of the SW1801 Sub Woofer
System. The SW1801 is the finest single 18” sub-woofer enclosure
that Carvin has ever offered. Perfect for bands, DJ’s, and
permanent installations. From tight, punchy upper-bass to earth
shaking sub-bass, the SW1801 can fulfill any professional sound
reinforcement requirement easily. The built-in sub woofer crossover
does an excellent job eliminating all upper frequencies (can be
switched out for bi-amping or tri-amping directly to the drivers).
Compatibility with any amp is assured with high current Twist-Lok™
twist-on connectors and standard 1/4” phone jacks.
RECEIVING INSPECTION
INSPECT YOUR SPEAKER FOR ANY DAMAGE which may have occurred during
shipping. If any damage is found, please notify the shipping company & CARVIN.
SAVE THE CARTON & ALL PACKING MATERIALS. In the event you have to re-ship
your unit, always use the original carton and packing material. This will provide the
best possible protection during shipment. CARVIN and the shipping company are
not liable for any damage caused by improper packing.
SAVE YOUR INVOICE. It will be required for warranty service if needed in the
future.
SHIPMENT SHORTAGE. If you find items missing, they may have been shipped
separately. Please allow several days for the rest of your order to arrive before
inquiring.
RECORD THE SERIAL NUMBER on the enclosed warranty card or below on this
manual for your records. Keep your portion of the card and return the portion with
your name and comments to us.
WARRANTY
Parts and labor are covered for 1 year on manufacturer’s defects. Warranty does
not cover burned out drivers caused by excessive power or distortion, or physical
damage caused by general use, moisture or dust. CAUTION: Distortion from
power amps can destroy drivers much faster than clean power. Contact Carvin’s
Customer Service at 800-854-2235 or returnsrepairs@carvin.com. Customer is
responsible for shipping charges.

SPEAKER CABLES
Use either 1/4” 16 gauge copper wire speaker cable or high-current Twist-Lok™
cables with heavy 4 conductor 12 gauge copper wire. The Carvin PH50 is
adequate for lengths up to 50’ under normal use. You can DAISY-CHAIN up to one
additional speaker per cable by using the OUTPUT connector. Be sure to note the
total impedance to the amp so it is not lower than it’s recommended impedance.
SUGGESTIONS FOR OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE
It is recommended to keep subwoofers on the floor as the floor enhances the
low frequency wave to develop more acoustic output. Subwoofers may be hung
but their efficiency is slightly lower when suspended.
