CROSS-TOTALING
There
are various ways
of
cross
totaling.
This
program
is
extremely
useful in
calculating
sub-
totals
of
items
in
horizontal
rows
and
in
vertical
columns.
The
data
table
prepared
by
this
pro-
gram can
be
immediately
stored
in a
CETL
file.

When
the
program
is
started,
it asks
you
to
input
the
number
of
items
in a
horizontal
row
and
the
number
of
records
in
a vertical
column.
Input
numbers
from
2
to
24
for
the
number
of
items
and
the
number
of
records,
respectively. When all
the
numeric
data
in
the
first
row
has
been
entered,
the
program
calculates
the
subtotal
of
that
row.
This processing
is
continued
until
the
subtotal
for
the
last
row
is
calculated.
The
program
then
displays
the
prompt
"DO
YOU WANT
TO
CHANGE
ANY
ITEM?"
If
you
do
not
wish
to
change
any
numeric
data,
input
0
for
either
X
or
Y.
If
you
change
numeric
data
in a
particular
row,
the
program
re-calculates
the
subtotal
of
that
row
and
outputs
the
result.
(Output
of
percentage
data,
etc.)
After
all
the
data
has
been
input,
the
program
asks
whether
or
not
the
results
are
to
be
output
to
the
printer.
If
you
wish
to
print
out
the
results, press
the
Y
key.
If
not,
press
any
other
key
on
the
keyboard.
When
you
press
the
Y
key,
the
results
are
printed
as
shown
in
the
example.
Note
that
the
maximum
number
of
items
(X)
that
can
be
printed
in
a row
is
9
for
the
FP-1017PR
printer
and
3
for
the
FP-l0llPL
printer-
plotter.
If
you
press
anything
other
than
the
Y
key,
the
program
outputs
the
subtotals
and
percentages
of
the
individual
columns
as
you
press
the
(;;:!)
key
repeatedly.
Thus,
per-
centage
data
is
output
only
in vertical
columns.
This
should
be
kept
in
mind
when
designing
the
input
formfit.
