Limitations
The
maximum
size
of
a
value
that
you
can
enter
is
10
digits
for
the
mantissa
and
2
digits
for
the
exponent.
Internally,
calculations
are
performed
using
a
12-digit
mantissa
and
a
2-digit
exponent.
Once
you
complete
a
calculation,
the
result
is
internally
rounded
off
to
10
digits
and
displayed.
If
you
continue
the
calculation,
the
displayed
(10-digit)
value
is
used
by
the
calculator
for
subsequent
operations.

Overflows

Errors
When
predetermined
calculation
ranges
are
exceeded,
the
calculator
will

an

and
disable
any
further

Steps
The
size
ot
a
calculation
is
measured
in
steps,
with
each
step
representing
a
value
or
calculation
command.
In
some
cases,
one
step
is
the
same
as
one
value
or
one
key
oper-
ation
as
in
the
case
of
arithmetic
operators
such
as
€3,
63.

and
&.
In
other
cases,
two
key
operations
represent
a
single
function,
and,
therefore,
one
step,
such
as
(ar.

doubt
about
what
makes
up
a
step,
press
the

cursor
key.
Each
press
will
cause
the
cursor
to
move
the
equivalent
of
one
step
on
the
display.

Calculations
longer

can

by
