m Searching for Data
There are two methods that you can use to search for data stored in memory, Sequential
Search
and
Initial
Search.
Note
that
you
should
first
cancel
the
MEMO
IN
mode.
To
exit
the MEMO IN mode, press faq &e).
The examples used in this section will assume that the following data are stored in memory.

*Using Sequential Search
With sequential search, simply press the fa key to scroll through the records in sequen-
tial order.

Indicates that the record continues off the right side of the display.
You
can
use
the
cursor
key
to
scroll
through
a
record
and
see
its
entire
contents.

“You can move the display back to the left by pressing the cursor key.
*The display will scroll at high speed if you hold the cursor keys down.

If you press the Sa key while the final record is displayed, the (#] indicator will disappear
and the display will clear.
*You can also use the fg) key to scroll through the records after the first record is dis-
played by pressing the (sax) key. However, the display will not change if you press the
8 key while the final record is displayed.

With initial search, you enter characters (up to eight steps) and press the key. The
caiculator will then recall any records in which the characters are include” as initial charac-
ters of:

DA group of characters following a double quotation mark
(3A group of characters preceded by a space ( (>a) 3).
Note the following record:

If you enter A and press [tJ for initial search, the caiculator would recall (3) (initial charac-
ter of record), (2) (initial character of group preceded by a double quote), and ‘4° (initial
character
