Do you have a question about the CELL Ultimo Urban E-Bike and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The CELL Ultimo Urban E-Bike is a pedal-assisted electric bicycle designed for urban commuting and light terrain use, including roads, cycling paths, footpaths, and walkways where permitted. It is not intended for sports events, racing, or activities like cycling down steps or leaping without express approval. The bicycle is partially assembled upon purchase, requiring the user to attach certain components such as the handlebar stem, front wheel, and pedals.

Function Description:

The CELL Ultimo Urban E-Bike provides pedal assistance up to 25 km/hr, with a range of up to 50 km on a single charge. The E200 ENTITY e-bike system features a 250W motor located in the rear hub, which assists the rider only when pedaling; there is no throttle. The system includes a 374Wh smart battery and a sine-wave controller for a smooth, quiet, and efficient ride. A premium LCD display provides vital information such as battery capacity, speed, and trip meter. Users can select from five levels of pedal assistance and activate front and rear lights via the display. A "walk assist" function is available for moving the bike at walking pace (6 km/hr) up hills or out of car parks.

Maintenance Features:

  • Regular Check-ups: Recommended at least every 1000 km or annually by a specialist dealer.
  • Torque Requirements: All screw joints must be tightened to specific torque values (e.g., stem expander bolt 13 Nm, pedals 35 Nm, wheel nut front 25 Nm, wheel nut rear 40 Nm). A torque wrench is essential for correct assembly and maintenance.
  • Cleaning:
    • Clean the chain regularly (every 150km or 10 hours of use) with a dry rag and suitable lubricant, removing excess.
    • Wipe the frame, brake and gear levers, saddle, pedals, tyres, and frame latches with a dry rag to remove water residues and prevent rust.
    • Do not apply lubricant to brake pads or surfaces.
    • When washing with a hose, avoid wheel and pedal bearings.
    • Do not use thinner or other solvents for cleaning. Use a damp, well-wrung cloth for the battery and plastic cover.
  • Lubrication Schedule:
    • Chain: After removing dirt, after riding in rain, every 250 km with chain oil.
    • Brake and gear cables: Annually with silicon-free grease (if not functioning well).
    • Wheel bearings, pedal bearings, inside bearing: Annually with bearing grease.
    • Spring elements: As per manufacturer's instructions with special spray oil after removing dirt or riding in rain.
    • Thread elements: During mounting with mounting grease.
    • Sliding surfaces of quick release skewers: Annually with grease, spray oil.
    • Metal seat post in metal frame: During mounting with grease.
    • Gear joints, Brake joints: Annually with spray oil (if not functioning well).
  • Tyre Maintenance:
    • Regularly check profile depth, air pressure, and condition of the side of the tyre.
    • Adhere to minimum and maximum permissible tyre pressure values printed on the tyre side wall.
    • Consult a specialist dealer for tyre selection.
  • Brakes: Regular servicing is essential. V-Brakes require adjustment to ensure a 1mm gap between brake shoes and rim. Brake linings should be replaced when worn.
  • Gears: Gears are factory-adjusted but may need checking by a professional mechanic as cables stretch (recommended at 3 months and then every 9 months). Avoid changing gears under load.
  • Storage: Store in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme heat, keeping the bike upright. For long-term storage, clean and lube the chain, wipe the frame and wheels, and pump tyres to recommended pressure.
  • Transportation: When transporting in a car, use bungee cords and blankets to prevent damage. E-bike batteries typically have restrictions for air travel; check with airlines or postal carriers.
  • Battery Care: Store the battery at room temperature, protected from direct sunlight, with a charge between 30-70% capacity. Remove the battery from the bicycle for extended storage.
  • Troubleshooting: A table of common symptoms, possible causes, and remedies is provided. If problems persist, contact the dealer.
  • Warranty: 24-month warranty against defects in workmanship and parts. Exclusions include defects from accident, misuse, improper installation, lack of care, unauthorized modification, loss of parts, tampering, or use for non-domestic purposes. Normal wear and tear are not covered.
