1. Removethefrontgrill(ifpresent)fromthefrontofcoolingunitbeforeattachingthefrontduct
hoods.
2. DuctworkmustbeattachedtoBOTHtheintakeandexhaustopenings,connectingthecooling
unitandthewinecellar.
3. Thecoldductkitconsistsof2ducthoods.Onehoodisdesignedforintakeandwillcoverthe
lowerportionofthecoolingunit.Thishoodiscompletelyopenontherear.Thesecondhood
isdesignedfortheexhaustandwillcoverthetopportionofthe cooling unit. This hood is
partiallyclosedontherear.Bothhoodsaredesignedtoattachtothecoolingunitwith3/8”
self‐tappingscrews(included).DONOTUSESCREWSLONGERTHAN3/8”.
4. Aremotethermostatisincludedandisrequiredforusewiththefrontductkit.Theremote
thermostatisdesignedtoplugintothefaceofthecoolingunitandterminateinsidethecellar.
Theremotethermostatmaybeusedtomeasureairorliquidtemperaturesinsidethecellar.
Ifmeasuringair,placethethermostatinthecellarinalocationwithgoodairflow.Ifmeasuring
liquid, fill a bottle with mixtureof water (80‐90%) and rubbing alcohol (10‐20%), insert the
probeintothebottleandusetherubberstopperonthethermostattosealthebottle,andplace
thebottleinsidethecellarinalocationwithgoodairflow.If the bottle probe is used to
measureairtemperatures,thedifferential(HY)onthecoolingunitshouldbesetto“4”.If
thebottleprobeisusedtomeasureliquidtemperature,thedifferentialshouldbesetto“1”.

5. Theunitcanbeductedupto100equivalentfeet,or50equivalentfeetforeachofthesupply
andreturnducting.Thesespecificationsarebasedon8”diameterflexductingfullyextended
toensureasmoothinnerductwall.Elbowsorbendsmusthaveaminimumradiusof8”.All
elbows,bends,grills,andadapterswilladdtotheequivalentlength,reducingtheactuallength
available.Useaductsizingprogramtodeterminethetotalequivalentfeetofaspecificduct
routingdesign,orconsultthemanufacturerforrecommendations.
6. The“High”fanspeedsettingisrequiredforallductedinstallations.Condensationonthehood
canoccurinwarmandhumidenvironments,eventhoughtheinsideofthehoodisinsulated.If
leftunattended,thiscondensationmaycausedamagetotheelectricalcomponentsinsidethe
coolingunit.Thisdamageisnotcoveredbythecoolingunit’swarranty.
Ifcondensationoccursonthefrontducthood,youshoulddothefollowingASAPtomitigate
thecondensation:
- Insulatetheducthoodbyadheringinsulationtotheoutsideofthehood.
- Applysiliconecaulkingtotheseamwherethehoodmeetsthecoolingunit
