This document provides operating instructions for the Celsius Tie Down Electric Blanket, models CELEBTD-S and CELEBTD-DQ.
Function Description:
The Celsius Tie Down Electric Blanket is designed to provide warmth and pre-heat a bed. It is an under-blanket that is secured to the mattress using tie-down tapes. The blanket features a 3-heat control system, allowing users to adjust the warmth to their preference. It is intended for household use only and is not suitable for commercial, industrial, or medical use. The blanket is equipped with a fixed controller for model CELEBTD-S and two fixed controllers for model CELEBTD-DQ (Double/Queen, King, and Super King sizes).

Usage Features:
- Installation:
- Place the electric blanket onto the mattress with the controller(s) at the head end, towards the foot end of the bed.
- The control switches should be positioned below the electric blanket at the head end.
- Unroll the tie tapes and pass them under the bed as shown in the diagrams (Figures 1-6 in the manual) to firmly secure the blanket to the mattress with knots.
- Ensure heating wires do not extend under pillows or hang over the sides.
- The power cord must be routed to the head of the bed to prevent it from being sat on or rolled on.
- Avoid trapping, wrapping, or folding cords between bed slats, mattresses, springs, or against walls, headboards, or bed frames to prevent damage.
- Pre-heating:
- The blanket needs to be unfolded and laid flat before switching on.
- For first use, it is recommended to switch the blanket to the maximum setting for two to three hours before bedtime.
- For everyday use, 15 minutes of preheating is typically required before bedtime.
- Always reduce to the desired heat setting 15 minutes before getting into bed.
- Crucially, the blanket must be switched OFF prior to sleeping.
- Heat Control:
- The control features a rotary switch with settings:
- 0: OFF
- 1: Low, Gentle Heat
- 2: Medium Heat
- 3: High Heat
- Safety Precautions:
- Do not use if there are visible signs of damage.
- Do not use with a coiled cord set, as this can cause heat build-up.
- Do not use heavy or dense over blankets, as they may lead to overheating.
- Do not pinch, flex, or expose the heating wire.
- Do not place the power cord under carpet or cover with rugs or furniture.
- Do not use on a bed used by infants, incapacitated persons, paraplegics, quadriplegics, diabetics, or any person insensitive to heat or vulnerable persons unable to react to overheating.
- Not for medical use in hospitals.
- Do not use on a damp mattress or water bed.
- Do not use on an adjustable bed.
- Do not use any pins, needles, safety pins, or other sharp items on the blanket.
- Keep all pets away from the blanket.
- Never use the blanket to dry clothes.
- Do not tuck in the blanket, as this may cause overheating or fire.
- Only use the control provided by the manufacturer.
- Do not unplug by pulling the power cord; always turn off the power at the outlet and grasp the plug.
- Never sleep with the blanket on in a heat setting.
- The blanket must not be powered on when folded; ensure it is laid flat without kinks or overlaps.
- Children under the age of 3 are not to use this appliance. Young children over 3 should only use it if controls are pre-set by a parent/guardian or if they are adequately instructed.
- Avoid creating sharp creases during storage.
- The appliance must not be supplied through an external switching device (e.g., timer) or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by the utility, to avoid inadvertent resetting of the thermal cut-out.
- A "tingling sensation" (electric field effect/EMF) may be experienced by some users; this is normal and not an electric shock.
Maintenance Features:
- General Care:
- Always unplug the appliance when not in use.
- Carry out regular checks of the supply cord for damage.
- Ensure hands are dry before handling the plug or controls.
