check battery
Battery discharged
Check control
positions
Check fuel
Remove and
inspect spark plugs
Take engine to an
authorized servicing
dealer, or refer to
manual
Move lever to
CLOSE unless
engine is warm
Choke OPEN
Put engine switch in
Engine switch pull out
Refuel
Outoffuel
Drain fuel tank and
carburetor. Refuel
with fresh gasoline
Bad fuel; engine stored
without treating or
draining gasoline, or
refueled with bad gasoline
Spark plugs faulty, fouled,
or improperly gapped
Spark plugs wet with
fuel (flooded engine)
Fuel filter clogged,
carburetor malfunction,
ignition malfunction,
valve stuck, etc
Dry and reinstall
spark plugs
Replace or repair
faulty components
as necessary
Recharge battery
Gap, or replace
spark plugs
