Refueling: Use unleaded gasoline with a pump octane rating of 87 or higher. Ethanol gasoline can also be used. Avoid stale or contaminated fuel. Refuel outdoors in a well-ventilated area with the engine stopped and cooled. Do not overfill.
Oil Change Procedure: Drain used oil when warm, then refill to the outer edge of the oil filler hole with recommended oil.
Storage Preparation:
- Cleaning: Clean exterior surfaces after the engine cools. Avoid using a garden hose or pressure washer directly on the engine to prevent water ingress.
- Fuel Management:
  - Fuel Stabilizer: Add stabilizer to a full tank of fresh gasoline and run the engine for 10 minutes to circulate the treated fuel.
  - Draining Fuel: Alternatively, drain the fuel tank and carburetor completely by removing the carburetor drain bolt and fuel tube.
- Engine Internal Protection: Remove spark plugs, pour 5-10 cc of clean engine oil into the cylinder, pull the starter rope several times to distribute the oil, then reinstall spark plugs. Pull the starter rope slowly until resistance is felt to close valves.
- Battery Maintenance (for electric start): Recharge the battery monthly during storage.
- Storage Environment: Store in a well-ventilated area, away from flames, sparks, and high humidity. Cover with a nonporous cover after cooling.
