Why won't my Champion Global Power Equipment aXis Portable Generator engine crank?
    • A
      April BrownJul 28, 2025
The engine might not crank due to several reasons. First, ensure the HSB controllers are in the AUTO position. Check the battery connections; they should be properly connected according to the owner’s manual, clean, and tight. The battery(s) may need recharging or replacing. Finally, check for any active fault codes and reset after correcting them.

What to do if my Champion Global Power Equipment aXis cranks but doesn't start?
    • L
      Leah LewisAug 3, 2025
If your generator cranks but doesn't start, there are several potential causes. Begin by checking for any active fault codes and correct/reset them. Ensure the fuel valve(s) are turned on. Check the fuel pressure to the fuel regulator using a manometer to confirm it is sufficient. Weak batteries can also be the culprit, so recharge or replace them if necessary. Also, check the oil level and add oil if needed, and make sure the spark plug wire is connected.

Why does my Champion Global Power Equipment aXis Portable Generator HSB start and then suddenly stop?
    • T
      Tyler SmithAug 9, 2025
Your HSB might be stopping suddenly due to several reasons. First, check for any active fault codes and reset after correcting them. Confirm sufficient fuel supply, checking fuel pressure to the fuel regulator with a manometer. Low oil levels can cause a pressure shutdown, so inspect for leaks and add oil if needed. Overloaded generator can also cause this issue; in this case turn off standby circuits for house, reset fault, place unit back into AUTO and ATS mode, then turn on standby circuits for house. Finally, the engine may be overheating; check all intake and exhaust ventilation around the HSB, remove any debris, and let it cool down for 30 minutes.

How to fix a Champion Global Power Equipment aXis Portable Generator engine that starts but runs rough?
    • W
      William MarshallAug 15, 2025
A rough-running engine can stem from several issues. Check the fuel pressure to the fuel regulator with a manometer to ensure it's sufficient. Verify that the correct fuel jets (NG or LPG) are installed for your fuel type and change to correct Master Mixer fuel jets. Inspect the spark plug for faults, ensure it's properly gapped, and the wire is connected. Clean or replace the air cleaner if it's plugged. Remove one or more loads if the generator is overloaded.
