Why is there a sudden drop in gas flow in my Char-Broil Outdoor grill?
    • T
      Tommy OconnellAug 14, 2025
A sudden drop in gas flow or low flame in your Char-Broil outdoor grill can occur if you run out of gas. Check the LP cylinder to ensure it has gas. Another cause could be a tripped excess flow valve. To resolve this, turn off the knobs, wait 30 seconds, and then try lighting the grill. If the flames remain low, turn off the knobs and the LP cylinder valve, disconnect the regulator, reconnect it, perform a leak test, turn on the LP cylinder valve, wait 30 seconds, and then light the grill. A vapor lock at the coupling nut/LP cylinder connection might also be the cause. Turn off the knobs and LP cylinder valve, disconnect the coupling nut from the cylinder, reconnect it, and try again.

Why no sparks when pressing ignition on Char-Broil Outdoor grill?
    • W
      William WallsAug 18, 2025
If no sparks appear at any electrodes and no noise is heard from the spark module of your Char-Broil outdoor grill, the battery may not be installed properly, so check its orientation. The battery might also be dead, so replace it with a new alkaline battery. Another possibility is that the button assembly isn't installed correctly; unscrew and reinstall it, ensuring the threads are aligned and fully engaged. Lastly, the spark module itself could be faulty, requiring replacement of the spark module assembly.

Why are sparks weak on my Char-Broil 463241014 T-22D Outdoor grill?
    • T
      Tina BauerAug 21, 2025
If sparks are present but not at all electrodes or not at full strength on your Char-Broil outdoor grill, the output lead connections may not be connected. Remove and reconnect all output connections at the module and electrodes. Arcing to the grill away from the burner(s) may also be the cause. If possible, observe the grill in a dark location and look for arcing between output wires and the grill frame while operating the ignition system. A weak battery can also cause this issue, so replace the battery with a new alkaline battery. Wet electrodes can also be the cause, so use a paper towel to remove moisture. Finally, the electrodes may be cracked or broken, in which case you should replace them.

    How to prevent flare-ups on my Char-Broil 463241014 T-22D?
    • K
      Kristin BarrAug 26, 2025
Flare-ups in your Char-Broil outdoor grill can happen due to grease buildup. Clean the burners and the inside of the grill/firebox to prevent this. Excessive fat in the meat can also cause flare-ups, so trim the fat before grilling. Finally, excessive cooking temperature can be the reason, so adjust (lower) the temperature accordingly.

What to do if flames blow out on my Char-Broil 463241014 T-22D Outdoor grill?

      Mrs. Dominique HubbardAug 29, 2025
Flames blowing out on your Char-Broil outdoor grill can be due to high or gusting winds. Turn the front of the grill to face the wind or increase the flame height to combat this. Another reason could be low LP gas, in which case you should refill the LP cylinder. Also, the excess flow valve might have tripped; refer to the instructions for a sudden drop in gas flow to resolve this.

What to do about a persistent grease fire in Char-Broil Outdoor grill?
    • M
      Mary SmithSep 1, 2025
If you have a persistent grease fire in your Char-Broil outdoor grill, it may be because grease is trapped by food buildup around the burner system. Turn the knobs to the OFF position and turn off the gas at the LP cylinder. Leave the lid in position and let the fire burn out. After the grill cools, remove and clean all parts.

    • J
      James MeyersSep 5, 2025
Flashback (fire in burner tubes) in your Char-Broil outdoor grill happens when the burner and/or burner tubes are blocked. Turn the knobs to OFF and clean the burner and/or burner tubes. Refer to the burner cleaning section of the Use and Care guide for detailed instructions.

Why no sparks but noise from module in Char-Broil Outdoor grill?
    • C
      Chris RossSep 9, 2025
If no sparks appear at any electrodes, but noise can be heard from the spark module of your Char-Broil outdoor grill when the Electronic Ignition Button is pressed, the output lead connections may not be connected. Remove and reconnect all output connections at the module and electrodes.
