It illuminates when the ignition is
switched
on
and
goes
out
shortly
after
the engine starts.
If it illuminates when the engine is
running, stop the vehicle and switch
off the engine. The battery is not
charging. Engine cooling may be
interrupted. Seek the assistance of a
Chevrolet dealer.
Malfunction indicator light
Z
illuminates yellow.
The malfunction indicator light turns
on when the vehicle detects a failure
of the emission control system or
important electronic sensors.
If the malfunction indicator light is
blinking, damage to the catalytic
converter may occur. Reducing the
engine
speed
may
prevent
damage
to
the catalytic converter and stop the
malfunction indicator light from
blinking.
If the malfunction indicator light is on
when the vehicle is being driven, the
vehicle needs to be serviced by a
Chevrolet dealer.
