Overview

The ChouBox is an automatic cat litter box designed to provide a convenient and hygienic solution for cat owners. It features a self-cleaning mechanism, safety sensors, and deodorization systems to ensure a clean environment for your cat and home.

Function Description

The primary function of the ChouBox is to automatically clean cat litter. It operates in various modes, including intelligent cleaning, timed cleaning, and manual cleaning. In intelligent cleaning mode, the device detects when the cat has left the litter box and initiates a cleaning cycle after a user-adjustable time (default 5 minutes). Timed cleaning allows users to set a specific frequency for cleaning at regular intervals (default 2 hours). Manual cleaning can be initiated via the control panel or a connected mobile application. The device is designed to work with any clumping cat litter, with a recommendation for low-dust, unscented, biodegradable clumping cat litter with a particle size within 20mm.

The ChouBox is equipped with advanced safety sensors to ensure the well-being of your cat. It features 10 layers of infrared ray protection and 2 sets of Hall sensors. When the device is operating, it automatically pauses if a cat is detected nearby or enters the litter box. Additionally, it has 4 gravity sensors that ensure the internal ball remains stationary while the cat is inside. The cleaning operation resumes only after the cat has been detected as being off the ChouBox for 10 seconds. This "Kitten mode" prevents cleaning when cats weighing less than 2.5 pounds are present, as they may not be recognized by the system.

For odor control and hygiene, the ChouBox incorporates deodorization systems. It includes a sealed waste collection box and a built-in ozone generator to lock in odors and prevent them from spreading into the air. Furthermore, the device is equipped with UV light, which activates for 3 seconds before opening and 3 seconds after closing the sealed door of the waste bin. This UV light helps to destroy viruses and bacteria, contributing to a safer environment for your cat.

The ChouBox can be controlled and monitored through a mobile application, compatible with both "Tuya" and "Smartlife" platforms. This connectivity allows users to manage cleaning settings, monitor the device, and receive notifications remotely. The setup process involves connecting the device to a 2.4G WiFi network and pairing it with the app via Bluetooth.

Usage Features

Setting up the ChouBox is straightforward as it comes fully assembled. Users need to place it on a firm, level, dry, and hard surface, away from heat and humidity. It should also be positioned near a power outlet, ensuring it is not pushed against a wall or into a corner to avoid affecting sensor performance. For app control, the device must be within a Wi-Fi covered area.

Adding litter involves pouring it into the ChouBox, ensuring it is flattened below the maximum fill line (approximately 366 cubic inches or 6 liters) to prevent spillage during operation. The device is powered by a Type-C cable, which plugs into the back of the base.

The control panel features a knob for navigation and selection. Users can turn the knob to select options, press it once to confirm (OK), press it twice to return or end an action, and long-press it for a forced exit. Through the control panel, users can adjust cleaning settings, including the intelligent cleaning trigger time and timed cleaning frequency. Networking settings allow for connecting the device to the mobile app. The device supports multiple languages, with English as the default.

The mobile application enhances the user experience by providing remote control and monitoring capabilities. Users can register an account on the "Tuya" or "Smartlife" app, then connect their ChouBox by selecting "Connect" on the device's control panel and following the app's instructions. Bluetooth must be enabled on the mobile device for successful detection and pairing.

Maintenance Features

Routine maintenance is essential for the optimal performance and hygiene of the ChouBox. The device features a 10-liter (610 cubic inch) waste collection box, which can hold waste for up to two weeks, though cleaning every 5 to 7 days is recommended.

Replacing trash bags involves pulling out the waste drawer from underneath the ChouBox, opening the lid, removing the old bag, and inserting a new one. It is important to press the trash bag as far as possible into the bottom of the waste drawer to avoid blocking the infrared sensor.

Users should also regularly check and clean the waste drawer lid manually. Small particles of litter may stick to the bottom of the litter box and fall onto the lid of the waste drawer as the internal ball rotates. Cleaning this area prevents excessive litter accumulation, which could affect the normal operation of the ChouBox.

The ChouBox is designed with several washable components to facilitate thorough cleaning. The bonnet, the internal ball, and the waste drawer can be removed and washed with water. Other parts of the device should be cleaned by wiping them with a damp cloth. It is crucial to disconnect the ChouBox from power before performing any cleaning.

For specific maintenance tasks, such as installing or detaching the silicone anti-adhesive pad, detailed instructions are provided. The anti-adhesive pad has slots that buckle into specific positions (1, 2, and 3) for installation and are released in reverse order for detachment. Users can also refer to tutorial videos available on the manufacturer's website for visual guidance on these procedures.
