1. Wait until the toilet has cooled and the fan has stopped. The ash container becomes very hot
during the incineration process.
2. Remove the toilet’s front hatch.
3. Turn the ash container towards the right until the handle is pointing directly towards you. Pull
the ash container out in a straight line.
4. Remove the ash container insert and empty the ash. The ash is clean, dry, free of germs and has
no odour. The ash may be used as fertilizer concentrate. No restrictions apply to the disposal
of the ash.
5. Clean the container insert to remove salts from urine and charred deposits. (This is described
in detail on page 8, Maintenance). The incineration process will be more effi cient after the ash
container has been carefully emptied and cleaned.
6. Remember to replace the container insert before reinstalling the ash container assembly in the
toilet.
7. Turn the ash container to the left until it stops. The toilet will not start unless the container is
correctly positioned. (The red and yellow lamp will stop fl ashing when the ash container is in
the correct position).
Emptying indicator
The most important maintenance operation is to empty the ash container at regular intervals. The toilet is equipped with an
indicator notifying you when it is time to empty the ash container.
After about 100 incinerations, lights on the control panel will start fl ashing yellow and red, indicating that it is time to empty
the ash container. In addition, a beeper will beep quickly 10 times when you lift the lid.
After 130 incinerations, the lid will be automatically locked. The red and yellow light will be permanently on, and the beeper
will sound. It will not be possible to use the toilet until the ash container has been emptied.
Flammable liquids, burning objects, cigarettes and similar items must never
be placed in the toilet bowl and/or ”fl ushed” into the toilet.
Emptying the ash container
It is recommended that you should empty the ash container once a week, or when the system indicates that the container
should be emptied.
