Step 1: Cabling the AIP SSM Management Interface
To cable the AIP SSM management interface, perform the following steps:
Step 1 Locate a yellow Ethernet cable from the accessory kit.
Step 2 Connect one end of the cable to the management port on the AIP SSM, as shown in Figure 9.
Step 3 Connect the other end of the cable to your network device.

Step 2: Configuring the ASA 5500 to Divert Traffic to the AIP SSM
To specify the traffic that should be diverted from the security appliance to the AIP SSM, perform the
following steps:
Step 1 To specify the traffic to be diverted to the AIP SSM, add a class map using the class-map
command. For more information, see Using Modular Policy Framework in the Cisco Security
Appliance Command Line Configuration Guide.
