Overview of the GNSS FRU Module
The IR1833 and IR1835 have a slot for a dedicated GNSS field-replaceable unit (FRU) module, which will be
used in addition to the one integrated in the LTE module, for more accurate dead reckoning performance. The
part number is IRM-GNSS-ADR.
GNSS Specifications
The following table shows the GNSS details.
Receive (Rx) Band MHzRF BandT echnology
1575.42 +/- 1.023GPSGNSS
1597.52 - 1605.92GLONASS
1575.42 +/- 2.046Galileo
1561.098 +/- 2.046BeiDou
The features that are available on the module are:
• Time synchronization: GNSS data can be used as a source clock by NTP server services, thus reducing
WAN traffic and latency.
• Location: For geo-fencing and asset tracking.
• GNSS data streaming to applications: Data streams, such as NMEA, are being sent to one or multiple
destinations.
The following figure shows a GNSS FRU module.
