What to do if CLEAN BURN Boiler burner shuts off on reset during the day or night?
    • N
      Nicole JohnsonAug 7, 2025
If your CLEAN BURN Boiler burner ignites but shuts off on reset later, consider these potential causes: First, air might be present in the fuel supply, requiring you to prime the pump. Second, the primary control might not be receiving the correct ohm signal from the cad cell, so check for that. Third, insufficient air pressure could be the issue; adjust the air regulator. Fourth, a cold heater block can cause problems, so avoid shutting off power overnight—instead, turn off the thermostat or aquastat. Finally, fouled electrodes could be to blame; inspect and clean them and the retention head.

Why CLEAN BURN Boiler ignites but shuts off on reset within 15 seconds?
    • C
      Cheryl ValdezAug 11, 2025
If your CLEAN BURN Boiler burner ignites but shuts off on reset within 15 seconds, here's what might be happening: * A fuel delivery problem could be the cause. * The cad cell might be dirty; clean and check its condition and the wires. * Loose cad cell wires; ensure the yellow wires are properly connected. * Damaged cad cell or wires; replace them. If heat damage is evident, clean the boiler, combustion chamber, flues, and stack, and check for backdrafts. * Incorrect ohm signal from the cad cell; disconnect the yellow wires and check the ohm reading (should be below 500 ohms). Also, verify the cad cell and retention head positions.

What to do if CLEAN BURN Boiler pump will not prime and pump motor is not running?
    • J
      Jack LawrenceAug 16, 2025
If the pump in your CLEAN BURN Boiler won't prime and the pump motor isn't running, there could be a couple of reasons. First, there might be no power to the pump circuit from the burner. To troubleshoot, start the burner and adjust the air pressure regulator to 15 PSI. If the amber "pump" light comes on, troubleshoot the pump circuit from the burner to the pump. If the light doesn't come on, there's a problem with the pump circuit in the burner; check for power at the brown wire on the air pressure switch and replace parts as needed. Second, the pump motor might have shut off due to thermal overload. Let the motor cool down, check its voltage and amperage, and ensure the coupling allows free shaft movement. Replace any faulty parts if shafts won't turn freely.

What to do if CLEAN BURN Boiler burner won’t run at all but the green power light is on?
    • C
      Cassandra WalterAug 21, 2025
If your CLEAN BURN Boiler burner won’t run, but the green power light is on, several issues could be the cause. The oil primary control might have shut down on a safety reset; in that case, reset the oil primary control. The wall thermostat might not be working, so check it and its cable. The heater block might not be heating up; feel the back of the burner to check if it's hot. Also, the F-120 proving switch might not have closed. Check the red wire at the F-120 proving switch for power. Also, the oil primary control terminals might be incorrectly wired; check the wiring. The oil primary control itself might be damaged, so check its voltage (must be 115 volts). Finally, the flow switch, operating aquastat, or high limit switch might have opened; test these switches for power.

Why CLEAN BURN Boiler burner shuts off on reset periodically?
    • K
      Kristin BowmanAug 25, 2025
If your CLEAN BURN Boiler burner ignites and runs, but shuts off on reset periodically, it could be due to: Air in the suction oil line because of leaks at the fittings. To solve this, vacuum test the pump and properly seal the suction line fittings to eliminate air leaks. Another cause could be air trapped in a high point in the pressure oil line; bleed the air out of the pressure oil line.

How to fix CLEAN BURN Boiler pump that will not prime when the pump motor is running?
    • O
      Olivia LloydAug 29, 2025
If the pump in your CLEAN BURN Boiler won't prime but the pump motor is running, consider these possibilities: There might be leaks in the suction line, so ensure it's properly installed and airtight. The pump might not be filling with oil during priming, so ensure the pump head is filled with oil before starting. The pump gears could be dry; follow the procedure to fill the oil line and prime the pump. A damaged pump seal could be the cause; check for oil at the pump shaft and replace the pump or seal if necessary. Ensure the ball valve is open, and the canister filter and check valve are clean. If none of these resolve the issue, the pump might be damaged or worn out and need replacement.

What to do if CLEAN BURN Boiler burner won’t run and the green power light is not on?
    • D
      David WeissSep 2, 2025
If your CLEAN BURN Boiler burner won’t run at all and the green power light is not on, it could be due to a few reasons: the circuit breaker or main switch might be open (close it), a fuse or breaker might be blown (an electrician should check the electrical system), or the burner cable could be damaged or not plugged in properly (check the burner cable).
