Installation & Start-Up Guide
Thank you for purchasing a Clean Water System! With proper
installation and a little routine maintenance your system will be
providing filtered water for many years.
Your new system comes with a printed Fleck Service manual,
which along with this start-up guide will help guide you in the
installation and start-up of your new system. The Fleck service
manual covers other types of systems as well such as water
softeners and filters, so there may be information in your Fleck
service manual that does not pertain to your system. Please
review this start-up guide entirely before beginning to install
your system and follow the steps outlined for best results.

Why is there hard water coming from my Clean Water Systems Water Dispenser?
    • A
      Andrea HudsonAug 14, 2025
Hard water from your Clean Water Systems Water Dispenser might be due to several reasons. The bypass valve could be open, so ensure it is closed. The brine tank may be empty; add salt, keeping the level above the water. A plugged injector screen can also cause this; clean the injector screen. Finally, insufficient water flowing into the brine tank could be the culprit; check the brine tank fill time and clean it.

What to do if my Clean Water Systems Fleck 5600-SXT has excessive water in the brine tank?
    • K
      Kim ThomasAug 18, 2025
If there's excessive water in the brine tank of your Clean Water Systems Water Dispenser, it could be due to several reasons. Check for a plugged drain line flow control and clean it. The injector system might be plugged, so clean the injector and screen. A timer that is not cycling can also cause this, so replace the timer. Foreign material in the brine valve or brine line flow control can also be the problem; replace the brine valve seat and clean the valve, or clean the brine line flow control.

Why is my Clean Water Systems Fleck 5600-SXT Water Dispenser losing water pressure?
    • C
      Clinton WalkerAug 21, 2025
Loss of water pressure in your Clean Water Systems Water Dispenser could be due to iron buildup. Clean the line to the water conditioner, and clean the control, adding mineral cleaner to the mineral bed. Also, increase the frequency of regeneration. If the inlet of the control is plugged due to foreign material, remove the piston and clean the control.

Why is my Clean Water Systems Fleck 5600-SXT Water Dispenser drain flowing continuously?
    • K
      Kara JohnsonAug 25, 2025
If your Clean Water Systems Water Dispenser drain flows continuously, the valve might not be programming correctly. Check the timer program and positioning of the control. If it's not positioning properly, replace the power head assembly. Foreign material in the control could also be the cause; remove the power head assembly, inspect the bore, remove any foreign material, and check the control in various regeneration positions. An internal control leak can also cause this; replace the seals and piston assembly.

Why is my Clean Water Systems Water Dispenser softener failing to regenerate?
    • P
      Patricia RobertsAug 28, 2025
If your Clean Water Systems Water Dispenser softener isn't regenerating, first, ensure it has permanent electrical service by checking the fuse, plug, pull chain, or switch. If the electrical service is fine, the timer might be defective, and you should replace it. Also, check for a power failure and reset the time of day if needed.

What to do if there is iron in conditioned water from my Clean Water Systems Fleck 5600-SXT?
    • D
      Derek RodriguezSep 3, 2025

Why is my Clean Water Systems Fleck 5600-SXT control cycling continuously?
    • K
      Karen CarrSep 7, 2025

What to do if my Clean Water Systems Fleck 5600-SXT is losing softening resin through the drain line?
    • K
      Kyle WilliamsSep 10, 2025
If your Clean Water Systems Water Dispenser is losing softening resin through the drain line, it could be due to air in the water system. Ensure that the well system has a proper air eliminator control and check for a dry well condition. It may also be caused by an improperly sized drain line flow control, so check for the proper drain rate.
