The Clear Comfort Commercial Grade Pool & Spa Systems are advanced water treatment systems designed for commercial pools and spas. These systems utilize a patented hydroxyl-based advanced oxidation process (AOP) to provide clean, healthy water with reduced chemical usage. The manual covers installation, operation, and maintenance for models CCW300A, CCW300, and CCW500.
Function Description:
The Clear Comfort system introduces modified air into the pool or spa water via an existing plumbing system, where a biocide is produced. Remaining activated atoms either keep minerals dissolved in the water or remove previously deposited minerals. This AOP technology effectively oxidizes contaminants, reducing the need for traditional chemical sanitizers like chlorine or bromine. The system is designed to run only when the pool pump is operating, ensuring efficient and synchronized water treatment.
Important Technical Specifications:

Water Quality Parameters (at installation):
- pH: 7.2-7.4
- Cyanuric Acid: <50 ppm
- Alkalinity: 80-120 ppm
- Calcium Hardness: 100-300 ppm
Usage Features:
- Easy Installation: The installation process typically takes one to four hours with minimal disruption to existing recirculation or electrical systems.
- Venturi Injection: The system uses a venturi injector to introduce modified air into the water, ensuring maximum contact with hydroxyls. Proper installation requires the venturi to be positioned as close as possible to the main line at the end of the exit leg.
- Pump Synchronization: The Clear Comfort system is designed to run only when the main pool pump is operating, preventing unnecessary operation and ensuring proper water circulation for treatment.
- Electrical Connection Options: Can be hardwired to the pump electrical circuit (preferred method) or plugged into a GFCI-protected standalone electrical outlet with its own timer, ensuring it only operates when the pump is on.
- Air Flow Meter: An airflow meter is used during initial setup to ensure the correct rate of air suction is achieved, optimizing system performance. This meter is not permanently installed and should be stored within the Clear Comfort enclosure after use.
- Visual Indicators: Blue LEDs on the system indicate that each cartridge is operating properly, providing a quick visual check of system status.
- Bubble Injection: Functioning systems will inject thousands of entrained bubbles into the pool/spa water via the return jets, indicating active treatment.
Maintenance Features:
- Annual Cartridge Replacement: The primary maintenance task is the annual replacement of cartridges. This should be performed by Clear Comfort personnel or a Clear Comfort-trained pool service company. It is crucial not to attempt service while the unit is wet.
- Backwashing Instructions: The manual provides clear steps for backwashing pool filters while ensuring the Clear Comfort system and bypass booster pump are properly shut down and isolated to prevent damage. After backwashing, the system is re-engaged, and airflow is re-verified.
- Safety Precautions: Emphasizes important safety instructions, including electrical safety (never service when power is ON, proper grounding, GFCI protection), general safety (wearing personal protective equipment, ladder safety), and warnings against tampering with the system.
- Warranty: A five-year warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for the Clear Comfort Systems, with replacement cartridges and cylinders warranted for one year. The warranty is voided if the customer attempts internal changes, exceeds operating parameters, attaches external devices that exceed operating parameters, tampers with the equipment, or if the serial number is covered, removed, or defaced. Warranty activation requires submission of a warranty card or online form within one year of the ship date.
