Function Description:

The core function of the ATLAS device is to record video. It operates by capturing external images of the vehicle's surroundings. While it serves as a recording tool, it is explicitly stated that the device does not have the function of guaranteeing user safety. The recorded driving video is for reference only, and Virtus Fleet accepts no liability for accidents, information loss, or any other issues arising from product failure or operation.

The device features a single power button that controls various functions based on the duration of the press. A two-second press turns the camera on or off. A single press toggles the Wi-Fi on or off, allowing for connection to a smartphone application. Pressing the button three times initiates a memory card format, and pressing it five times will reset the camera.

The ATLAS device is designed to be used in conjunction with a dedicated smartphone application, "Virtus Atlas," available on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. This application is crucial for accessing the device's features and recorded content. Once the app is downloaded and the camera is powered up, users can connect to the device via Wi-Fi by searching for the "Atlas" SSID. The initial password for connection is "12345678."

Through the smartphone application, users can view a live feed from the camera. The app also provides options to take pictures and access recorded videos. Recorded content is categorized into "Photo," "Video," and "Event" files, which can be viewed directly from the camera's storage (labeled "DVR" in the app) or saved to the user's device (labeled "Local"). To ensure location data is displayed alongside videos, files must be downloaded from the camera and played back within the "Local" tab of the application. The app also allows users to save files to their device by tapping a downward-facing arrow icon, making them available for viewing or sharing at any time. Files can also be deleted directly from the app using a bin icon.

The smartphone application further provides access to various settings. Users can adjust options such as audio recording (microphone on/off), G-sensor sensitivity (high, mid, low), and file length (1, 3, or 5 minutes). Other adjustable settings include date stamp display (date & logo, date, off), date format (DD/MM/YYYY, MM/DD/YYYY, YYYY/MM/DD), exposure, and the ability to set/adjust the time. The app also allows for formatting the SD card, managing Wi-Fi settings, resetting the device, and accessing help and "about" information.

Usage Features:

The ATLAS device supports both a front camera and an optional secondary (rear) camera, offering comprehensive vehicle coverage.

Front Camera Installation:

Preparation: The windshield glass must be cleaned before installation.
Static Sticker Placement: A static sticker, provided in the box, is to be applied to the front windshield in a recommended area. Bubbles between the sticker and the glass should be squeezed out during this process.
Camera Mounting: The protective sticker on the camera bracket is removed, and the camera is placed in the middle of the electrostatic sticker. The base of the bracket should be pressed firmly to ensure the high-temperature adhesive makes close contact with the static adhesive.
Cable Routing: The power cable is routed along the top of the front windshield, down pillar A, and around the glove compartment on the passenger side, connecting to the cigarette lighter port.
Angle Adjustment: The camera's angle can be adjusted to ensure correct positioning, which can be verified through the smartphone application.

Rear Camera Installation:

Preparation: The rear windshield glass should be wiped clean before installation.
Static Sticker Placement: An electrostatic sticker is applied to the rear windshield in a recommended central position. Bubbles should be squeezed out during application.
Camera Mounting: Similar to the front camera, the protective sticker on the camera bracket is removed, and the camera is placed in the middle of the electrostatic sticker. The bracket base is pressed to ensure proper adhesion.
Cable Routing: The secondary camera cable is run through the vehicle and connected to the main camera unit. Two methods for cable routing are illustrated.
Angle Adjustment: The secondary camera's angle can be rotated 360 degrees to suit the required viewing angle. Additionally, the image can be flipped 90 degrees to accommodate either horizontal or vertical installation.

Maintenance Features:

Proper maintenance and handling are crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of the ATLAS device.

SD Card Management:
- The storage card's default file partition format may not be compatible with the product. It must be formatted within the device upon first insertion.
- The memory card should not be inserted or unplugged while the device is booting, as this can damage the SD card.
- SD cards, like all digital storage, degrade with use. Users are advised to periodically check recordings for inconsistencies (e.g., unexplained gaps) and replace the SD card if necessary. Virtus Fleet disclaims responsibility for failures caused by memory card issues.
- Only high-quality SD cards with 16GB to 128GB storage capacity and transmission speeds of at least MLC Class 10 standard should be used. Inferior memory cards can lead to problems such as inconsistent read/write speeds and inaccurate capacity, potentially resulting in lost or damaged video. Virtus Fleet is not liable for issues arising from the use of inferior memory cards.
Battery Care:
- The device contains a built-in super capacitor battery that should not be removed.
- Batteries (or battery packs) must not be exposed to direct sunlight, fire, or similar overheating conditions.
- Users should not attempt to replace any internal battery.
Environmental Protection:
- The equipment must be kept dry, and contact with water should be avoided to prevent battery failure.
- If battery deformation, swelling, or leakage occurs during operation or storage, the device should be immediately stopped from use, and the after-sales service department contacted.
- The device should not be subjected to unnecessary shock or vibration to prevent damage, dysfunction, or rendering it unusable.
- The product should be kept away from strong magnetic fields, as this can cause damage.
- The device should not be used in high temperatures above 60°C or low temperatures below -10°C.
- After prolonged operation, the outer casing may become hot, which is normal but requires careful handling.
Cleaning:
- If the device requires cleaning, chemical solvents or detergents should not be used. A dry cloth is recommended for cleaning, if possible.
Legal Compliance:
- Users are reminded to use the device within the scope permitted by law.
Power Supply:
- Only the standard car charger head, power cord, and other accessories provided with the product should be used to avoid failures due to specification discrepancies. Virtus Fleet is not responsible for recording loss caused by the use of a non-standard power cable.
Installation Precautions:
- Care must be taken during installation to ensure that the driver's line of sight or any airbags are not blocked.
