SHIMMING
Foreachadjustmentoperation,selectadjustingshimsandmeasureindividuallyusingamicrometer,thenaddup
therecordedvalues.Donotrelyonmeasuringtheentireshimmingset,whichmaybeincorrect,ortheratedvalue
indicatedoneachshim.
ROTATINGSHAFTSEALS
Forcorrectrotatingshaftsealinstallation,proceedasfollows:
•
beforeassembly,allowthesealtosoakintheoilitwillbesealingforatleastthirtyminutes.
•
thoroughlycleantheshaftandcheckthattheworkingsurfaceontheshaftisnotdamaged.
•
positionthesealinglipfacingtheuid;withhydrodynamiclips,takeintoconsiderationtheshaftrotationdirection
andpositionthegroovessothattheywilldeviatetheuidtowardstheinnersideoftheseal.
•
coatthesealinglipwithathinlayeroflubricant(useoilratherthangrease)andllthegapbetweenthesealinglip
andthedustlipondoublelipsealswithgrease.
•
insertthesealinitsseatandpressdownusingaatpunchorsealinstallationtool.Donottapthesealwitha
hammerormallet.
•
whilstinsertingtheseal,checkthatitisperpendiculartotheseat;oncesettled,makesurethatitmakescontact
withthethrustelement,ifrequired.
•
topreventdamagingtheseallipontheshaft,positionaprotectiveguardduringinstallationoperations.
O-RINGSEALS
LubricatetheO-RINGsealsbeforeinsertingthemintheseats,thiswillpreventthemfromoverturningandtwisting,
whichwouldjeopardisesealingefciency.
SEALINGCOMPOUNDS
Applyoneofthefollowingsealingcompoundsonthematingsurfaceswhenspecied:SILMATE®RTV1473,or
LOCTITERTV598orLOCTITE®INSTANTGASKET587BLUE.Beforeapplyingthesealingcompound,preparethe
surfacesasdirectedonproductcontainerorasfollows:
•
removeanyincrustationsusingametalbrush.
•
thoroughlyde-greasethesurfacesusingalocallyapprovedcleaningagentsuchassafetysolventorbrakeparts
cleaner.
SPAREPARTS
Onlyuse"CNHOriginalParts"or"CNHParts".
Onlygenuinesparepartsguaranteethesamequality,durationandsafetyasoriginalparts,astheyarethesame
partsthatareassembledduringstandardproduction.Only"CNHOriginalParts"or"CNHParts"canofferthis
guarantee.
Whenorderingspareparts,alwaysprovidethefollowinginformation:

machinemodel(commercialname)andserialnumber
•
