Guardian - System Monitor and Speed Control

Thermostat/Thermometer,acompressorspeedadjustmentknob,andadiagnosticfaultLED.Thepanelissuppliedwith
a10’thermostatsensoranda10’control cable that connects toa Danfosscompressorcontroller.IfaMerlin SSC
is
installed on the compressor controller, “AUTO” setting will give automatic speed control, otherwise there will be no
automatic speed control capability. A Power Terminal Multiplier circuit board is included to facilitate easy power
connections to the Danfoss controller, and a 2 amp inline fuse is installed in the positive
power feed wire. Standard
modelisforoperationon12vpowersuppliesonly.24vversionsavailableonrequest.
Location:
The panelis designed to be mounted on a vertical surface, secured bythe four screwsprovided. Care
mustbetaken to ensurethatthelocation chosen will not subjectthepanelor its componentstosplashingorrunning
water,steam,corrosivegasses,excessivevibration,orphysicaldamage.Ideallythe
locationwillallowthe10’thermostat
sensorandcontrolcabletobeinstalledwithoutbeingextended.Ifitisnecessarytoextendeither cable,theelectrical
jointsshouldbesoldered.Thepanelrequiresacutoutmeasuring4.5”x1.5”,andadepthof3”.
Installation
:ThePowerTerminalMultiplieristobeinstalledonthetoptwoterminalsoftheDanfosscontroller.This
provides two sets of + and terminals: one set for the incoming 12v power feed from the distribution panel via a
breaker, and one for the power supply tothe
Guardian. Ensure that thefemale connectors on the Power Terminal
Multipliermatecorrectlywiththemalepins.The
Guardianpanelisthenmountedandsecuredandthethermostat
sensorandcontrolcablesruntotheirrespectivelocations.ThecontrolwiresconnecttotheDanfosscontrollerasshown
below.Thethermostatsensorshouldideallybelocatedatmidheightinthebox,andnotonawallthathasany
portion
ofanevaporatormountedonit.Thesensorshouldbeisolatedfromthebox wallwithaplastictieorsimilar.
