TROUBLESHOOTING
Q. The audio output is not very loud
A. Make sure that the volume control on the COGA handset is turned up. Make
sure that the master volume control on the back of the amplifier is turned up.
The master volume can be adjusted lower once everything is OK.
Q. I am only hearing 1 channel of my MP3 or other audio source.
A. You must use two horns to hear both channels. Refer to “Dual Horn
Speaker Wiring”
Q. If I connect the amplifier directly to the battery will it drain the battery?
A. If properly connected, No. If the REM terminal should be connected to a
12V source that turns off when the ignition switch is turned off, so that the
amplifier does not take power when the ignition is off.
Successful
Q. the audio output “breaks up” occasionally.
A. Make sure power connections are tight and you are using heavy gauge wire.
Q. The green Power LED blinks
A. This is normal and indicates that the amp is operating at maximum capacity.

PREPARATION BEFORE USE
Before you install the amplifier, carefully read all instructions. The quality of
installation will affect the system’s performance and reliability. When you
evaluate the complexity of the installation, you may well decide to seek
professional service. Any car stereo installation center should be able to
provide such services.
z Be sure you have a 12V DC, negative-ground electrical system.
This is the most common power configuration in an automobile.
Some golf carts and truck vehicles provide different voltages, please
check first. Applying a voltage in excess of 12V may cause damage
to the unit and will void the warranty.
z Before you mount the amplifier, temporarily connect the amplifier and
test to be sure it works. Do not permanently mount the amplifier until
you are sure the connections are correct.
z Keep the power supply and speaker wires as short possible as to
minimize power loss and provide higher audio output from the
system. Be sure that the cooling fins of the amplifier are in free air
and are not against a panel or other surface.
WARNING: Do not touch the amplifier or place flammable objects near it when
operating. The amplifier can get very hot while in use.

Summary

Troubleshooting Common Amplifier Issues

Low Audio Output Volume

Ensure both handset and master volume controls are turned up for adequate audio output.

Single Channel Audio Output

To hear both channels, two horns must be used, referring to 'Dual Horn Speaker Wiring'.

Battery Drain Prevention

Proper connection prevents battery drain; connect REM terminal to a switched 12V source.

Audio Output "Break Up"

Check for tight power connections and use of heavy gauge wire to resolve audio breakup.

Power LED Blinking Indicator

A blinking green Power LED is normal and indicates the amplifier is at maximum capacity.

Amplifier Specifications

Preparation and Installation Guidelines

Electrical System Compatibility

Requires a 12V DC negative-ground system; check voltage for other vehicle types.

Pre-Mounting Testing

Temporarily connect and test the amplifier before permanent mounting to ensure correct function.

Wire Management and Cooling

Keep wires short for efficiency and ensure cooling fins have free airflow for proper operation.

Power and Wiring Connections

Power and Ground Wiring

Connect +12V to battery positive and GND to battery negative using 14 gauge wire.

Speaker Wiring Options

Details single and dual horn speaker wiring, emphasizing polarity for dual connections.

Handset and Audio Inputs

Connect the handset directly and use RCA connectors for audio sources; manage REM terminal.
