Usage Features:
- Control Panel: The unit features a user-friendly control panel with a DHW temperature indication, battery charge indicator, burner power adjustment, and temperature adjustment knobs. A fixed battery symbol indicates very low battery, while a flashing symbol means the battery is dead and needs replacement.
- Turning On/Off: To turn on, the user rotates the knob to the desired water heating level. The unit automatically starts when hot water is drawn and turns off when demand ceases.
- Temperature Adjustment: The water temperature selector knob allows users to increase or decrease the temperature.
- Manual Burner Power Adjustment: The knob can be turned counter-clockwise for minimum power or clockwise for maximum power.
- Safety Warnings: The manual highlights critical safety precautions, including avoiding contact with hot surfaces near the peephole, ensuring proper ventilation, and only allowing authorized technicians to perform installation and maintenance.
- Gas Conversion: The unit is factory-set for a specific gas type (methane, LPG, or Propane-Air). Conversion to another gas type requires a conversion kit and must be performed by an authorized technician.
Maintenance Features:
- Installation and Maintenance: These operations must be performed by a registered technician in accordance with current standards and manufacturer's instructions. Tampering with sealed adjustment devices is prohibited.
- Pre-Ignition Checks: Before igniting, verify gas connection tightness, ensure the hydraulic system is filled and air-free, check for water leaks, confirm adequate grounding and electrical connection, and verify correct gas pressure.
- Operation Checks: During operation, light the unit, ensure fuel and water systems are tight, check the efficiency of air and flue gas ducts, verify correct gas valve modulation, and ensure easy ignition.
- Periodic Checks: An authorized technician should perform annual inspections to check control and safety devices, exhaust vent efficiency, air and flue gas duct integrity, and cleanliness of the burner and exchanger.
- Cleaning: The casing and exterior parts can be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth and soapy water. Abrasive detergents or solvents should not be used.
- Battery Replacement: The manual provides instructions for replacing the batteries, which involves unscrewing the A screws, rotating the casing, lifting it, and accessing the battery box. Before performing this, the gas cock must be closed.
- Fume Exhaust Safety Device (Fume Thermostat): This device ensures correct exhaust of flue gases. It must not be deactivated. If it cuts in, the flue gas outlet and exhaust system should be checked. Replacement must be done by qualified technicians using original parts.
- Water Hardness: If water hardness exceeds 25°Fr (1°F=10ppm CaCO3), the water must be treated to prevent deposits on the unit.
