Basic Functions Overview

Charging and Replacing the Battery

Charging the Battery

Rechargeable NiMH battery is included and charged when Comfort Duett is placed in the base unit. A green LED indicates charging.

Low Battery Indicator

Green LED in MIC mode, orange LED in T mode. Flashing LED indicates low battery.

Charging Time and Battery Life

Typical charge time is about 1 hour per hour of usage or 14 hours from empty. Battery lasts 15-20 hours.

Replacing the Battery

Slide battery cover, remove old battery, place new battery correctly paying attention to positive/negative ends.

Required Battery Specification

Requires a rechargeable NiMH battery with charge rate of at least 85 mA. Alkaline batteries not recommended.

Setting up the Comfort Duett

Wall Mounting Instructions

Use suitable screws, ensure screw head fits slot. Use drill pattern for spacing (42 mm).

Volume and Bass Control

Maximum Volume Control Adjustment

Control limits amplification (1-9 levels). High amplification risks feedback and ear damage. Factory default is level 2.

Neck Loop Volume Settings

Appropriate max amplification for neck loop is 1-6. Adjust T-level on hearing aid if needed.

Bass Level Adjustment

Adjustable via red switch behind battery cover. Moving towards top reduces bass. Affects external sources too.

Operating Instructions

Using the Communicator in MIC Mode

Place head/earphones, connect to Duett. Set volume to 0. Avoid proximity of earphones and Duett to prevent feedback.

Using the T (Loop) Mode

Picks up signals from inductive loop. Sign indicates loop presence. Place head/earphones, connect, set volume to 0.

Shutting Off the Comfort Duett

Slide mode selector to OFF position. No LEDs should be lit. Unit auto-shuts off in base unless connected to external source.

Troubleshooting Tips

MIC Mode Issues

Check mode selector, steady green LED, secure headphone connection, volume, and max volume control.

T Mode Issues

Check mode selector, steady orange LED, secure headphone connection, volume, max volume control, and loop.

Charging Problems

Check power cord connection, base unit placement, and battery installation/specifications.
