How to check its state of wear
Comments
Front and rear mechs/derailleurs There should be no abnormal play.
The elements should not be deformed.
To be replaced as soon as the efficiency is no longer
satisfactory.
Shifters There should be no abnormal play. To be replaced as soon as the efficiency is no longer
satisfactory.
Grip Should allow a firm grip on the handlebars.
Should not rotate on the bars.
Saddle There should be no creaking, the rails should not be
deformed. Should be comfortable.
Seatpost AThere should be no signs of cracks or deformation.
Should be able to freely slide in and out of the frame.
Don’t forget to lightly grease the seatpost to avoid any
binding of the frame and seatpost over time.
Crankset and bottom bracket There should be no signs of cracks or deformation. If the crankset is replaced by a version with longer arms,
it is possible that the clearance between the pedals and
the front wheel is reduced. Make sure that your feet do
not touch the wheel when you turn the handlebars.
Pedals There should be no signs of cracks or deformation
There should be no play. The axles should not be
deformed.
