Backup
Backup

Purpose:
Backs
up
one
or
more
files
from
one
disk
to
another.

Syntax:
backup
[drive:][patbname]
[drive:]
[/s][/m][/a]

The
backup
command
can
back
up
files
on
disks
of
different

media.
For
example,
you
can
back
up
files
from:
Hard
disk
to
floppy
disk

to
hard
disk
This
command
also
backs
up
files
from
one
floppy
disk
to
another

even
if
the
disks
have
a
different
number
of
sides
or
sectors.
The
first
drive:
option
is
the
name
of the
disk
drive
that
you
want
to
back
up.
The
second
drive:
option
is
the
name
of the
backup
(****)
disk
drive.
You
should
note
that
unless
you
specify
the
/a
option,
backup
erases
the
old
files
on
a
backup
disk
before
adding
new
files
to
it.

the
one
supplied
by
IBM®
are
com
patible.
File
and
disk
formats
are
the
same
as
those
that
the
IBM
backup
program
uses
unless
you
set
the
PL
switch,
which
is
